Score from 2117 reviews Very good
Some type of continual thumping outside my room. Couldn't tell if it was the over head guests or sound coming up from the roof or traveling up an alley. Sounded like periodic dumping of trash but it woke me several times a night
Great facility, nicely appointed
What's NOT to like ? This is what it feels like to be treated like royalty ;-)
The bathroom was set up for wheel chair access, for which we did not ask or need. Every time we used the shower the bathroom flooded. The hotel gave me a 50% discount which was good. Charging me US$68 to park my car was daylight robbery!
Location and view from the room
Our view of the inner courtyard was very uninspiring and felt like a glimpse behind the glamorous facade, you'd probably expect more when you book a hotel in this price range. The room was apparently newly renovated but the style felt very dated – we get that it's not trying to be hip and cool but it missed the mark on authentic old school luxury. Also to charge $14 a day for Wi-fi in this day and age is plain offensive.
We loved the comfort of the bed, the room was very clean and quiet, staff very helpful and the lobby was beautiful. Location pretty good if you don't mind walking up and down Nob hill a few times (we didn't mind), though the nearest few blocks around the hotel don't have much to offer.
I liked everything, no issues at all. Will stay here again.
the views of the bay were amazing. Staff really takes great care of you.
The only downside to staying here is that it's at the top of Nob Hill, which is very steep!
We got an absolute bargain for our stay here, the Fairmont is one of San Fran's fanciest hotels. We got a fantastic view, and our room was great. Staff lovely. I couldn't complain.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The concierge is amazing. It was our first time to San Francisco and he gave us some great ideas of things to do and explore.
Our daughter bought us a night's stay in sf at the Fairmont. Unfortunately we were unable to go because I came down very sick with the flu. My daughter told us she would call and cancel for us. After explaining what happened she asked if they would refund her money so we could book at a later date but was told it couldn't be done. My daughter lost the cost of the one night. We ended up paying to stay just this last weekend but it should have been no expense to us since our daughter paid for it. Life happens to people and it would have been nice if the hotel would have shown some empathy.
We were amazed how quiet our room was! We didn't even hear any city noise like sirens, traffic, etc.
Friendly staff. Very clean. Special treatment for anniversary.
The service in their restaurant was painfully slow. Our toilet didn't work even after they "fixed" it. They did give us a discount to compensate for the disgusting toilet.
You should have a shuttle bus going to and from union square
The shower on cold would get scalding hot. Although , we brought ear plugs, it would be a great item to have for guests that stay.
Bed was too soft - I also have a back problem so this made it worse.
$65 a day for parking, and paying for wifi.
Location, the hotel and cable car outside.
Luxury prices on breakfast room service: $80 for 2 people is ridiculous.
We had a wonderful weekend vacation at the Fairmont. It's in a great, central area of SF, making it easy to explore the city via walking and Uber.
The walls in this hotel are paper thin! I could hear the baby in the room next door crying from 4am.
We found a small empty bottle of grey goose on the floor and also the restaurant declined at first to seat us for Easter breakfast since it was fully booked. So, we asked again since we were hotel guests and had a table reserved within 15 minutes.
Exceptional service and very accommodating requests were granted such as early check in. I couldn't have been more pleased with the room that had a million dollar view of North Beach, Coit tower, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.
WiFi service was very bad! And the connection to the provider!! Slow bellman
Small vanity space around bathroom sink.
Free parking as an overnight guest
the room was smaller than expected both in main room and more so open closet and more so bathroom had no room on miniature sink surface or no place to put towels. disgusting!!
Hallway noise from staff working and talking too early Some of the waiters had an attitude
The service at the restaurant for dinner was unfriendly and they made us feel that we had to leave asap
The building is impressive and staff super friendly
The building is so spacious and beautiful, which is completely magic. Faultless staff and service, reasonably priced room service and laundry. The room also had a very spacious walk-in wardrobe
Overnight parking was expensive.
The bed was the most comfortable!!!!
