In the affluent district of Nob Hill, this historic San Francisco hotel features a restaurant and elegant rooms.
Score from 242 reviews Excellent
This towering historic landmark on Nob Hill features a top-floor restaurant with beautiful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Cable car stops are just outside the hotel.
Score from 508 reviews Very good
Hallway noise from staff working and talking too early Some of the waiters had an attitude
The service at the restaurant for dinner was unfriendly and they made us feel that we had to leave asap
The building is impressive and staff super friendly
The building is so spacious and beautiful, which is completely magic. Faultless staff and service, reasonably priced room service and laundry. The room also had a very spacious walk-in wardrobe
Overnight parking was expensive.
The bed was the most comfortable!!!!
The restaurant left a lot to be directed. It was very expensive and we did not like the food.
The cable car stopped right outside the back door. We took it to Fisherman's Wharf. Staff was great.
Paying for wifi
Beautiful hotel, room was very nice. Bed very comfortable. Excellent location, right next to Chinatown. Tonga club was very fun & entertaining, band was great. Concierge was helpful, all staff very nice.
No free wifi
The building and features Clean
No dresser in room so had to hang everything. Fold out couch was broken. Bathroom counter space was not very handy and no fan in bathroom so room got very stuffy.
Location was great and staff was nice.
Very busy with business conventions during the day and snooty staff.
Beautiful classical lobby. Amazing view out our hotel room.
Not really a bad experience. I think the front desk people were a bit unfriendly and kind of aloof.
Wonderful history of the property. Beautiful lobby.
14$ a day for wifi.
Very clean. Awesome shower. Courteous staff.
Beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Location second to none.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The receptionist while checking in was not very friendly, snobbish and didn't explain e.g. that Wifi needs to be paid or what facilities are available in the hotel. We had other receptionists later which were very friendly though.
Great location and convenient to visit San Francisco. The hotel is a historic building but kept at the newest standard.
hotel only for convention, very poor quality.
I loved the historical pictures all around the Fairmont and the beautiful and relaxing lobby.
Paid wifi seems rather unnecessary.
Beautiful room and view. Pet freindly with room-service menu for pets!
Location isn't convenient. It's tiring to go out with out car or taxi.
It's really beautiful in there.
Hotel was nice, beautiful and room was excellent. Views overlooking downtown and bay hit the mark.
We loved the beautiful room. The view was to die for.
I did not have a bad experience but I wish that high end hotels did not have such expensive breakfasts. It is the only type of meal I feel overcharged.
Loved that it is a luxury hotel with a history with San Francisco's past and is still making history. The staff is simply lovely.
We arrived from New York to find a lobby with lines extending out into hotel entrance. We waited 2:45 minutes to check in. We were meeting other family members for Valentine's Day. We missed our dinner reservation and no restaurants had table. No compensation was offered for ruining our stay. Horrible lack of competency and resources.
Hotel is in good location, historic, room comfortable.
it's at the top of one heck of a hill. (get a cable car}
everything about it
i am traveling per month maybe 4 time and more.. and expert booking.com really 1000 usd for 2 rooms which no internet and without breakfast..and dirty windows .. i left second day from this hotel... in breakfast swaer in god the bread was infected and for that the guy charge me for 2 person not 3 ...i am not layer .. and i havr prove...
nothing.. only the position..
Hotel is a bit cavernous (seems built for conventions) which makes it a bit cold. Paid WiFi :( but got free by signing up for Fairmont card... tedious.
Friendly front desk staff, large rooms. Sizeable workout facility. Price was right vs. other 5* options in San Fran at the time.
