Walking distance to Louies Backyard and the beach. Room was gourgeous.Breakfast was great. I am ready to go back. In fact I tried to book my family vacation for next year and it will not let me...:0(
I asked for an ocean view and didn't get it. That was very disappointing.
Price. Beds were comfortable.
It is in desperate need of maintenance. The staff is fairly helpful. The location really isn't that close to the beach. It's an old Howard Johnson that someone has bought and seems to be milking the end of life out of it.
Breakfast was good nice location.
No becon with breakfast .
the room was comfortable, very good air conditioning, the bedding was great and the breakfast was good. I will certainly be going back there again!!
The room size and comfort.
Staff was great. breakfast also great my boys and I had a good time
The room was not very clean and not informing us that pets were allowed. I would not be returning to this location.
great hotel great stay!
Location was okay. There were a couple receptionist that were very nice but anyone that worked after there morning shift were useless and lazy. When they put there children to work so they can watch TV...you know that is the case. They had a small amount of WiFi but only in the lobby so chill in the hot lobby or you hot room because getting anyone to turn a fan or an AC on is impossible due to laziness. I called for towels and never got them because he claimed, he forgot. The beds were springs with cardboard tops. the shower was broken and the vent fan did not work...you know how that ended up. It seemed like the house keeping never cleaned anything below their waste. I have stayed in many hotels across the nation, And this hotel, by far, was the worst ever.
I was upset withe the hotel choice from the second we stepped into our room. If you could imagine the worse hotel you have ever been in...times that by 3. Nothing worked. Everything was broken or hanging from a thread. Laziness In all departments. What AC. What WIFI. What safety. There were none of these. Anyone could walk right through the back doors, kick in a door, and take everything and nobody would know. They said they had wifi but you had to huddle up in one area in the lobby for it. AC or fans...thats not happening unless you bring your own guys. They would not move for a million dollars. This place is horrible because of pure laziness and a cheap owner. Great location that would make great money but wont unless they get there act together.
breakfast was bearable
1.front desk rolled her eyes at me when i asked her for a rollaway bed 2.my restroom toilet took about 2 minutes to flush when using the restroom had to hold the flange down 3. beds are sooo uncomfortable and dont ask for and extra pillow because they dont have them
The room was big, comfortable and quiet. When the door knob came off and the bathroom sink stopped up, the repairman came right away. The people who clean the rooms are very nice. The waffles, coffee, juice and cereal were good.
When I asked the guy at check in to tell me about breakfast, he said, "Traditionally it's the first meal of the day..." The inside door knob came off, bathroom sink stopped up, and fridge was off balance. Eggs, gravy, sausage tasted awful.
The staff is friendly and very prompt, willing to aid and make you comfortable. Cleanliness throughout the facility
There is no way the building should have the old foogy smell. There is no way the cosmetics should look the way they do. please hire the right trades to REPAIR things instead of a matainence man patching it with caulk and painting over it. PLEASE change the carpet. PLEASE change the carpet THIS IS 2014 THE COSMETICS SHOULD HAVE BEEN UPGRADED A LONG TIME AGO. Somebody will get sick sleeping on the roll away bed that was delivered to our room it was all black around the edges too nasty to put a sheet on and lay down. Therefore 3 had to sleep in 1bed. VERY uncomfortable..... I work in construction I know this hotel can undergo a transformation on the inside to have a FRESH ambience
Both mornings the eggs and other "hot" items were cold. Had to stand in line at the microwave to heat up. Told staff both times but did not see any changes.
we where located in the middle of everything.
the beds where a little uncomfortable
How the a/c worked in the rooms and hoe helpful the staff was
The swimming pool had to much chlorine in it
The 2 bd suite had a balcony! I wasn't expecting that, it was a nice addition. Kitchenette nice and clean and bathroom had roomy tub to clean both my children at the same time. Bedding was okay, by the end of the day it didn't matter how comfortable we just knocked out. Not muggy or humid in our room at all...kept a good temp throughout stay. Hot breakfast featured waffle bar, always a plus. But it was pretty crowded.
When we arrived at hotel, check in 3p, we had to wait 45 minutes extra just to get our room. Upon entering room there was a huge wet spot on the carpet near the kitchenette extending to the whole side of the bed. Pool was warm, literally there was hot water being poured into it, im guessing form the jacuzzi. Mind you it was mid summer 95 degrees outside. Some staff attentive, but who seemed to be the manager at the time was definitely poor at greeting costumers properly.
Since we only use the room to sleep, the price is great. The location is close to nearby attractions.
Even though the hotel was clean it had a smell to it. We stayed in a room with a King size bed and it didn't even have standard size pillows! I'm not sure what size they were. We had to go to Walmart to buy some.
Room was furnished with old furniture, the place was in need of much repair. Before I would consider staying here again it would have to make some major updates, carpet, furniture, bath rooms and paint.
Staff was great and breakfast was excellent!
The fridge was unsteady and so was the ironing board.
nothing about breakfast
breakfast poor at best . hot breakfast didn't start until 8 am and finished at 9: 30. Staff ran out of food items
The location and the price were fine.
The hotel is very old and no renovated, the bedsw ere clean but I didn't dare to walk barefoot on the carpets, the breakfast very poor and there was no place enough for everybody to sit down, the pool was full of very noisy children and families... For a couple of nights it's ok because it's good located and not too expensive but not for a longer time.
It was close to the beach.
Beds were comfy. Room was clean!
Pretty noisy at night. The safe was broken. Room was located inches from the elevator. Television was blurry. Couldn't get a wifi signal.
Our room was clean, roomy and staff was very accommodating and helpful. I had mixed expectations of the hotel (due to the reviews), but overall, no complaints. Breakfast was decent. The "price" was the best part. All other hotels in South Padre were ridiculously high.
Our reservations were for 2 rooms, for 2 couples. One room was perfect and the other had AC problems, and saw 2 roaches. When you are next to a beach area, with palm trees, i think you can expect roaches. Hotel needs to spray for pests, and all should be ok. AC problems are expected. This is not a 5-star hotel...but works when you do not plan on STAYING in the room 24/7. I would have really enjoyed a workout room.
The room was dark thoughout the night and quiet. Beds were soft and ample pillows were provided. Frig and dining table were a nice touch.
Shower curtain would not stay closed allowing water to spill out. Shower knob was being held by a screw and would not function correctly. Only 2 towels were provided even though 4 were registered. When asking for 2 additional towels, smaller towels were given. Lounge chair in the room had stains on it. All front door rooms had dents on them. Breakfast ended at 9:30. Staff was not very friendly. Linens were not changed throughout the stay.
Nothing at all
The rooms are old, my air conditioning leaked all over the floor and the carpet was soaked and we where very hot. The front desk did move us but we ended up in a Handi cap room which was very old and very out dated and in general I was very unimpressed with this hotel the pictures of he facilities are a lot nicer than what you get. The outside door access that you are supposed to use your key to get back inside was broken and anyone can just walk in as a matter a fact on our 3rd night at the Inn the police where searching for someone who ran into, our building, I was not a happy mom and this caused me to start packing to,leave. I would never stay here again .
