We were three collegues and we shared a room. we asked for three separate invoice because we need them for reimbursement at work. after a lot of difficulties we had three wrong invoices. furthemore, without saying me anything, they take from my credit card not only the amount i had to pay, but they charged also the amount of a collegue of mine.and after they denied it! at the end, after two weeks, I received an email from booking saying that, since I did not stay in the hotel, my reservation was canceled and I had to pay 359 euro!
Architecture and contemporary chic theme.
The room was excellent; especially the bed.
The air conditioning was very noisy.
Definitely the location and the friendliness of the staff.
For the price we were expecting a better room considering ours was the "Deluxe".
Good location in a safe area, close to metro stop, plenty of places to eat out, and within walking distance of the river and memorials. Bed, wifi, shower and toiletries all excellent. Room very clean and spacious, well sound-proofed, and computers and printer available in lobby.
Staff on front desk appeared disinterested and/or dismissive throughout stay - I was given minimal info during check-in (eg. basic information such as where the elevators or restaurant were), and I don't think the lady made eye contact once during check-out. At no point were the staff friendly or approachable. No tea or coffee making facilities in rooms - I would expect this as standard particularly at the hotel price.
Location was wonderful. Right across the bridge and you were in the middle of Georgetown. Lots of restaurants around hotel. Elegant entry with lots of little places to sit. Rooms were spacious and by the looks of it, they all had a different layout.
Staff does not does seem to communicate with each other. Nobody knew what the other one was doing! No info given at check in for breakfast. Temperature control did not work in fitness room. Hot air was blasting out. It was about 95 in there. Same in our bedroom! Turned everything off! Printer in lobby did not work. Out of cartridge. Told them for 2 days, but nothing was fixed! Breakfast waiter the 3rd day was very rude! Basically threw the menu at me and said you have one choice!
Staff rude Booked king Bed got twin room
We checked in early and they immediately accommodated us. They were even able to upgrade our room because it was our anniversary. The room was very comfortable. The hotel location was perfect for a day of exploring Georgetown.
Parking is so expensive in DC and the Melrose is no exception. It's $48 per night. Sundays are free on the street and we did manage to find a spot. Be careful of the signs, however. They are confusing.
Rooms very large (but beds small) All newly refurbished Good location Staff all friendly Beds comfortable Free wifi - huge bonus!!
Beds too small for 2 people. Tried to charge for things we hadn't taken from mini bar however did remove the charge when we queried it. A lot of road noise.
The staff was excellent.
The food was not good Gardenia or whatever it is called.
nothing bad to say about the staff and this hotel in general
breakfast very cheap. for two persons we paid 50$
The free wifi and size and quality of the room.
Noisy guests late in the evening.
And old establishment with nice appointments and amenities . Lobby is beautiful . Staff friendly and helpful. Very close to Foggy Bottom Metro.
Nothing bad to say
location, lobby, room size breakfast, staff, location very near to george town
air condition in room was warm
The hotel was very nice and comfortable
Hotel was very noisy. Walls were thin. Could hear people in room next door and above us. Also air system was not personalized so there was air conditioning in whole hotel when but was cold outside.
Everything was perfect. I would certainly recommend the hotel
free coffee, tea and cool mint water. Most of the staff are very friendly, some are a bit grumpy though. We had noisy room neighbours. Location is great for renting city bikes and walking distance to Georgetown.
we got charged for Wifi and Minibar although we didn't consume. However staff did reimburse us after we complained.
No coffee in the room.have to go down to lobby and get own coffee.
Room was nicely furnished, however a bit dark.
Stairs between elevator and reception are very uncomfortable With luggage. Parking prices are Incredible.Staff is very efficient but also very formal.
The location is fine. National mile (west side) within walking distance. Close to metro station. Good breakfast (despite of the slow service).
Biting mosquitos in bedroom. Service was below average. Serving breakfast took a long time while it wasn't busy at all. No help with printing a document. And why is there an overpriced mini bar when there's a convenient shop with liquor license next door?
The Melrose is a gem. Luxury combined with great staff means your stay cannot be too long. And its great location means its great for business or pleasure.
Sad to say, but when I first opened my mini-bar, I was met by what looked like a cockroach. Was the last time we met, but it still was a bit of a pity. Otherwise, much faster and better broadband connectivity is a given in any luxury hotel, and yours ain't fast or convenient.
The evening restaurant staff including the Chef were outstanding. The head waiter Joe was about the best we have encountered. His service, knowledge of the food and wine was fantastic.he had a great attitude. Front desk staff were terrific. Led by Pauini and Stanley they were fantastic embassadors for the hotel.
Room service and customer service
The reception representatives are the worst, bad altitude, not friendly at all with foreigners, lack of experience, rudeness, no helping at all. Worthless business center, nothing is working, if you want to print anything it would be a challenge. Really the worst reception I ever seen in my life.
