It was a nice comfortable hotel with a good breakfast. I liked the style. Cookies and liquor in the lobby around 5 pm were a nice surprise. In general the hotel is no less than Hampton Inn quality, and it is probably more.
Quite expensive, but I guess this is San Francisco problem. The breakfast was the same every day. Internet connection was unstable: the router kept vanishing occasionally.
Breakfast - big room
Too old fashioned - very expensive
Good service in reception. Good location Parking is easy
Wifi was pretty bad in the room Quite expensive although it is difficult to find reasonably priced hotel in San Francisco. Service in the breakfast room.
Rooms were large with comfy beds, felt warm and like staying at at my grandmas house, good location, right on bus route, long but doable walk to union square
Wifi in rooms was weak that's all
The decor, lush Victorian upholstery, capacious public rooms, interesting furniture, such as a pulpit on the 4th floor and a piano bench in the elevator. Car parking is convenient, although not cheap - but this is San Francisco!
Wi-fi and cell reception spotty. Most guests had to resort to the public rooms for coverage. Also, the breakfast was not spectacular - similar to Motel 6.
I thought the complimentary evening cookies and sherry were a nice touch. The complimentary morning car service was also convenient although we learned about this by chance (we were not informed about this at check in time)
The lack of counter space and shelving in our bathroom was inconvenient. There was no space for toiletries or the wife's cosmetics. This made morning and evening preparations somewhat challenging.
NOTHING EXCEPT TEA/COFFE IN FRINT DESK
ROOM VERY SMALLY TINY SMELLING COCKROACHES IMSIDE ROOM AND BATHROOM VERY EXPENSIVE ROOMRATE LIFE FIVE STAR AND ROOMS LIKE NOT EVEN 2 STAR
-The breakfast didn't include green salad and mainly contained saturated fats, that means is bad for the healthy diet. -There is no good internet access in my room located in the 5th floor.
We really enjoyed this hotel; the staff was very attentive, the breakfast was good and the free transportation in the morning was perfect. The area was beautiful.
The location was a little far from major sights but the surrounding area was very nice. I wish their free transportation was available for more hours.
Imagine you travel with modern car in modern city and reat at this ancient euro style hotel. Nice staffs and good breakfast. Easy to reach anywhere in s f
The reception was very kind and attentive.
The value for the price is very low. If the salon is amaizing, the room, although a Deluxe one, was very poor and did not correspond at all with the photos on the website. The breakfast service was unacceptable: on the first day, we had to clear a table ourselfs to have one, the tablecloth were not cleaned from one day to the next one and the quality of the breakfast was also poor.
Atmosphere Friendly helpful staff quiet furniture FREE breakfast with good selection
Some rooms small - go for deluxe over standard if you want better size A little far from Union Square BUT they run a shuttle and on bus route
Loved our stay, good central location, very helpful & friendly staff, home made cookies at 3 are not to be missed! Loved the period style - even sat in a Queen Anne chair next to the fire, nodded off for 40 winks & not disturbed by any Ghost!!
A certain smell of old house in the parlor...
Great location - walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. Nestled among beautiful architecture and residential neighborhoods.
Given the attention to detail at all levels the breakfast was a little disappointing - if only because my expectations had been set pretty high by everything else. Not a deal breaker by any means, just a note.
Lovely hotel nice breakfast staff excellent
location was fine but far from center if walking.
Very cosy hotel. Super breakfast buffet.
I was very pleased with the overall quality of the hotel and staff. The breakfast was fine and every effort was made for your comfort, the staff were very approachable if you needed any assistance. The location was within walking distance of the town, but a taxi was also not expensive.
The wifi, while available, was generally that not that stable.
The style...it was like going back to the past..beautiful ..love the wood work..staff was great
We have a comfortable room and a lovely breakfast. The location is perfect for us as our Grandson lives close by and our Aunt is in a nursing home close by. Its also near many attractions.
Loved the decor, the super-nice staff, the history (tours!). The rooms were spacious and light-filled (our room faced west/Octavia St)), beds were nicely sized and very firm, room and common areas were generally clean. Continental breakfast was nice: hard boiled eggs, sausage, fruit, cereals, lots of breads. Good to have dedicated (across-street) parking, nice that there was valet backup if lot was full. Location near Japantown and Van Ness is awesome. Beautiful hotel...really felt like old San Francisco!
Need to clean bathrooms a little better (mold in the tub/shower grout/caulking). Breakfast should last one hour longer, it's over too early. Coffee was bad. At this expensive room rate, the Queen Anne MUST have better quality linens and pillows, and should include a pillow-top layer to soften the rock hard (though well-supported) beds. A well-outfitted and comfortable bed will make all other ills seem minor. All these things should be easy to fix to make a stay at the Queen Anne perfect.
Walking distance to Fillmore area where you will find lots of eateries, boutiques, pubs, etc. loved the afternoon tea break with an assortment of teas, cookies and sherry. Very nice touch.
The Hotel itself while being Victorian, was cute. Felt there was extremely too much furniture overall in the rooms.
The atmosphere and location is absolutely awesome.
That my booking thru booking.com didn't show up in Queen Anne's system even though it was approved by booking.com. Got two smaller rooms instead of the large one I originally had booked
Decor and location. Excellent staff and good breakfast
Basically everything. First and foremost the service: I must mention Roberto, the concierge. He did everything to make our stay just perfect. He created our two day visiting trips with such a good taste that we can only thank him for this. He gave us the right tips for food, places and displacements... really he did add value to our visit and to the Hotel. Thanks Roberto!. Besides this service, we loved the classic decoration that even my internet-age teenager boys loved too. Beautiful. The nice detail of the afternoon tea is just great and hardly ever seen in other places. Breakfast fine with a good choice of continental stuff. The room was at the top so we enjoyed a great view, massive bed in a wooden frame. Location excellent to get to visit almost everything in SF. Highly recommended.
20$ per day for a parking slot. Wifi sometimes faded.
