The room was clean, the sheets were fresh and the bed was cozy! No complaints at all. Nicely updated for an older hotel and conveniently located across from the Convention center and a few blocks from the Fox Theater.
Clean...happy staff...accommodating..close to venue!
The coffee.,always hope for better coffee:)but no biggie:)
Charm and comfort
location, close to everything
very few electrical outlets. the place was noisy.
I like everything about the hotel good people great service
Great Price, wonderful staff, convenient location and generally great experience.
The only thing I can think of that might be a little negative, was the size of the room, and we did not get a window with a view. But we did not spend much time in the room so it was perfect.
Had the best room in the Inn (a suite) for less than the cheapest room in the Marriot across the street. Good breakfast. 24hr coffee. Very friendly, helpful staff. Great restaurants within steps. Walk to Jack London Sq and Museum. Will return!
No conditioner available
Room needs better décor and updating. Everything felt cheap. Overpriced for the quality.
friendly staff. Older quirky building - I call it character.
Slow elevator; steep steps. Like most places in the City a bit noisy.
I spent 6 days at this quaint, hotel and found the accommodations wonderful. The bed was comfortable, and while the room was a tad small, I didn't mind because I really only slept thete.
This hotel didnot smell bad, as many do - it was neither musty nor filled with air freshener. Our room was on an interior courtyard so it was quiet.
The sink and mirror are in the room and it the bathroom but it wasn't a big deal.
location and older character of the hotel. charming lobby.
the room was a bit inconvenient. more space for shaving equipment and toiletries and a closet would have made it more functional for business travel. No fitness room.
I was able to keep my car parked in the Convention Center parking and walk to my meeting in Downtown Oakland.
The room felt luxurious at a nice price. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Location ideal.
Bathroom wasn't very clean. Internet was spotty and did not always work.
Even on a busy/hectic check-in day like New Years Eve in Oakland the staff were helpful polite and made everything easy. The rooms are comfy and very clean with nice fixtures.
The convenience of the location. Easy to get to from airport using BART. Amenities in the area, banks, drug stores, restaurants.
Customer service was poor. Had issues with the wifi, they seem to not care, wake up call not given when requested and needed a cab and it did not happen. The room was small but I was travelling by myself so it was not a real problem. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean but it smelled like bleach. If you don't care about customer service, go for it. There are other hotels in this area, so I would check them out before coming back here. But I may come back here.
-Good location in downtown Oakland -Live piano player and comedy show at hotel -Free breakfast -Interesting classic hotel
-No free parking in the area (pay for street parking or garage) -The street outside can be noisy
The staff were very friendly and honored my request of having a room with a view. The hotel felt historic and charming and is located in the heart of budding downtown oakland.
The staff is really great! Very quick check in and the room was clean and set up very quaint. The room lacks a closet so dont reserve if u plan to stay for a while. The garlicky Chicken from the restaurant is phenomenal. That Is the reason I'm staying at the hotel.
I didnt likeep that the room didn't have any closet space. Also the elevator needs work.
It is a well kept older building. Facilities were pretty nice.
Parking situation is not what I was expecting. Using the garage across the is gonna set you back at least $15.
very close to Bart station right next to awesome market BEAUTIFUL rooms the comfiest bed in the world
obnoxious cars but you can't really put that on the hotel nothing else!
No facilities in gym or pool
Positives: Great location, very quiet, staff was cool, price was right
No parking, lack of power outlets, had to walk down to the 1st floor to get ice / microwave
Two blocks from Bart, easy to find, across the street from the convention center, pleasant area. Great alternative to SF hotels
