too much mosquitos. As for the reception man he gave us the biggest room in the hotel and it was in the basement so we discovered that the room barely fit for two and the mattreses where very oldwith tiny pillows
Everything, especially the friendly staff.
Breakfast must have a little diversity...some whole wheat cereal, and whole wheat bread and some variety of cheese. It becomes monotonous to have the same breakfast day in and day out!
Great location, clean and pleasant room, good value for money.
There was water running from the pipes during the night, making an annoying sound and waking us up.
Facility is too old. Furniture in bad shape. Find roaches in r
The price for this place was quite ok. Better to use U-street station than Dupont Circle when arriving by metro (shorter walk this way). Some dining options around, get the 15% voucher for the beer baron if you are looking for pub grub.
A bit worn out, this place is not too pleasing on the eye. Caught a good nights sleep nevertheless.
Good location, central nice safe area
Old and worn...needs an update
Close to U st, that has restaurants, pubs and clubs! The hotel is quiet and clean!
We didn't like the staff, one of the front desk employee was rude, didn't allow me to pay in cash, yelling and throwing my debit card at me and forcing me to pay in credit card.
Good place to stay in for one night Nice pepole. Clean and comfortable
NoiIt was too hot in the night and the air conditioner was too noisy
There were several of us staying for a conference in DC. The room were unwelcoming, smelt like damp and had no nature light. They are also old and worn. There are much better hotels for similar money further out of DC which I regret not picking.
Willing personal Clean room Location/price
The staff was very kind. They have given a specious room. Very clean. Location is wonderful and safe.
Toilet didn't flush on the first day so we had to use the one in ground floor. We were at the 4th floor, but they have repaired in the next day. No Elevator. Basic breakfast. Very old fashion hotel.
Very close to U Street lined with restaurants and bars. Within walking distance of yellow/green metro lines. Clean Friendly hotel cat Shower stayed very hot
Outdated Extremely hot in hotel when we got there, took a while to cool with old air conditioner. Puny ice machine Wifi only works in the lobby
-very friendly, helpful staff -micowave, hot/cold water, coffee available at the lounge -decent room -comfy bed -good breakfast for the price (especially the bakery products) -
-100$ deposit if paid by cash -bit tricky to get to the Mall
Staff was friendly and helpful Location was fabulous Rooms were comfortable
It was located at nice street and good part of the town
Broken remote, broken window frame, having dark wall paper And unnessary long hall way in the room and having creepy rooms, high price but poor service
The hotel has a nice location only 5 min walk from u street Metro station. The breakfast in hotel is extra 5 dollars, and it did not seem very rich so we have opted to have breakfasts in Starbucks which is located 200 meters from hotel (turn left on your evit from hotel and you will find it on the same street of hotel); the other option is Ted’s Bulletin which is 5 min walk, very good for a Sunday brunch with wider selection of homemade pastries and good coffee. The rooms. We have stayed 3 nights, and after the first night we have asked to change the room. The room had the window which was overlooking a very sad inner courtyard so there was no light, and we had to hear the water dropping all the time.. So it was unbearable (room 407). The next day we have asked to change the room and we were given room Nr 406, which was bigger and had more light but no air conditioning…. The windows were opening only a little bit so it was very hot there. But the worst thing was a strange tube near the celinig which was noisy and spit the warm air. The noise was very high and we could not sleep well. But we even did not ask the reception to change the room because we have understood that hotel was too old and every room had some problem maybe.. Suggestions. I would say that Winston Inn could be ok for 1 night stay, when you just need a bed to sleep and you are so tired that you don’t care if the water drops of if there is some other noise.
Hotel definitely needs a series renovation.
The whole atomspher of the property very inviting.
The Breakfast could be bigger and more varitey.
Had charm and character throughout. Nice spacious room with plenty of seating.
Friendly staff Clean and big room Very cheap prices Very comfy bed
There is no elevator but the staff helped us carry the luggage!
Is a nice place to sleep , we only spent a few hours in the hotel to rest and sleep , the stuff was really nice and it's only almost a 15 blocks from downtown , then in the 18 and 17 street you have a lot of places to eat and have a drink
No elevator. A/C didn't work. Shower didn't work. Noisy!!!! Had to ask on a daily basis for linens needed. No parking - closest parking was 3 miles away at a cost of $33.00 a day. Went on an all day excursion to return at 11:30 PM and find the housekeepers key in my door and the door open. She leaves at 3 so my valuables were unsecured for over 8 hours.
The excellent attention of the French host. He's hilarious! Thanks for being so kind. And the breakfast for just $5 is very good.
Everything The staff The room The coffee at the lobby The location
Nothing to complain about
It was great that luggage storage was available on the days we checked in and checked out. It meant we could make the most of our time in washington. The hotel cat was also adorable. The hotel is situated in a great neighbourhood with lots of shops and restaurants.
We would have liked a fridge in our bedroom. The hotel is quite far away from the museums, but very easy to get there by metro and you are in walking distance of the zoo.
most staff didn't know where tourist attractions were or how to get there.
