The island is well connected with regards to transport, all be it needs some improvement on minor roads. A fair amount of things to do from Grand Word in the north and Sunset Town in the south with the cable car. It can be quite expensive to eat out and visit the attractions. The people are super friendly and accommodating.

If you like a beach holiday with plenty of sunshine then go for it BUT, beware of the rubbish problem on the beach and in town. Taxi service is good and always use local contacts not via hotel reception. Our hotel had a free shuttle service to and from the airport. There are quite a few trips you can take but we didnt have time in our schedule. We did walk into the town and as usual was amazed at what the Vietnamese can transport on a moped/bike. It is warm with high humidity and we had almost 3 showers a day. Phu Quoc is not as busy or congested compared to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh and was actually a welcome break from the chaotic madness of the above. Brilliant island which offers you a calm and pleasant experience. Enough attractions for kids and couples looking for some private time. Connectivity to the city is very simple via local transport which is free and is available 24/7. Just ask at the reception of the report or hotel and you will find all the details. If you go by ferry to and from Phu quoc, be prepared for a...
If you go by ferry to and from Phu quoc, be prepared for a bumpy ride! On the way back I spent all my time at a toilet in the rear. However, it was my own fault as I should have taken medicine against motion sickness prior to that 1½ hour long journey. About the Island itself, it is really beautiful, perhaps in parts a bit touristic which didn't disturb us that much since we rented a motorbike on three occasions so we could explore every hidden jem both north and south, like the starfish beach, the zoo with safari, remote fishing villages, the big pagoda in the far south and lots of other places. But of course, the main street in Duang dong can be extremely busy in the evening, as was the entire town on Tet (New years) eve. But there is a really good air conditioned bus service which is for free. And so lastly a note about the cable car in the far south which we never booked for it being so hugely overpriced, at least if, like us, you're traveling on a low budget.PeterSweden - 2.0Scored 2.0

Tady už turismus Vietnam úplně zabil. Všude resorty plné Rusů, mezi nimi špína a jinak nic. Sever i jih ostrova – totální turistický lunapark. Falešné Benátky i s gondolami, další fake italská města. Díky turismu vyšší ceny všeho, v obchodech malý výběr potravin, vegetarián je na Phu Quocu odkázán jen na instantní nudle s pak choi. Většina lidí ve službách nepříjemná, neumí anglicky a nesnaží se vyjít vstříc. Většina pláží nehezkých, nebo špinavých. Za zmínku stojí snad jen Starfish Beach a další pláž s hvězdicemi, kam se dá dostat ze Starfish Beach lodí. Na ostrově je pár míst na šnorchlování, zajímavější podmořský svět je ale spíše kdekoliv jinde v Asii. Phu Quoc jako celek pro mě tedy velké zklamání.ZuzanaCzech Republic

Big tv with several english new and movie channels that came in clear. Nice pool. It is a 4 minute ez walk inland from main coast road. Not a hinderess. Opposite, property and room was peaceful. First hotel room with actual black out curtains. Breakfast was good , real coffee not nescafa. Been in so many rooms in Asia that despointed. NOT the Hill Resort. Best mid budget room I have had in two months.
