Siem Reap was on our list to do and finally got the chance to visit this temple city. We stayed at the golden temple boutique hotel. This hotel is centrally located and close to all amenities eating, drinking, shopping and close to the main temples (short cab drive or hotel transport).

So if I was going again, I would recommend going to the national museum first before heading to the main sites. It would help establish what you were about to go and see. Siem Reap is easy to get around.

Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Most importantly the kind , soft spoken, warm and incredibly honest and poor locals deserve to get a break if tourism is promoted widely . The city is cheap and very easy to get by on tuktuks and vast amount of cheap massages and restaurants and local shopping .

Arrival at the airport was seamless (visa on arrival). Airport very modern and efficient. Transport (private vehicle or tuk tuk) readily available at very low cost. Accommodation very comfortable and very attentive staff. Plenty of places to eat in and around Pub Street. Plenty of temples to visit. Local inhabitants very helpful and friendly - no evidence of crime - always felt safe.

We loved the people and enjoyed visiting all of the sights Siem Reap had to offer . We preferred staying close to the centre so we could walk around and experience everything Siem Riep had to offer . The shopping was great and the locals were very friendly and helpful
