Phnom Penh is an interesting smaller Asian City. All the flavors of Asia with a rather loaded western influence to cater for their visitors. A horrible history that everyone needs to see. After a few days understanding Cambodia the next city has to be Siem Reip, the most amazing Angkor Wat, just needs to be experienced.
It was ok. But there is no anything to watch like Siem Reap. Filled with noise and busy people. There shopping malls are superb. Supermarkets every nook and corner. Very easy to access and purchase. Be aware of tuk tuk drivers. Don't ever try tuk tuk who are waiting in many places. They scam you. I got scammed too. Always use Grab or passapp to book your tour unless you are not accompanied by your company.
Phnom Penh is a city of contrasts from modern skyscrapers to small makeshift houses, from wide paved roads to narrow laneways, from luxury vehicles to overfilled rickshaws.... It's so easy to get around by tuk tuk although the traffic can get heavy and it may be too hot for some visitors not to have a/c. You can also book a ride on local apps such as Grab. Just make sure you have mobile data roaming on your phone so you can stay connected when going from place to place. The culture, history, food and people are all big attractions.
To move around any south east asian city you need transport, so tuk tuks were the only option. There was no guide to prices so a rule of thumb is to look at your distance then equate it to a $1 per km then a small tip. Even better download passapp and see consistent prices but always add 20% to any priceapp fare. Temples and references to the infamous Khemer Rogue are everywhere and well worth a visit. Nightlife can be wild or fine dining with thousands of bars and restaurants around Streets 104 to 136. Anywhere along the river (Tonle Sap) for quieter drinks. Indian food is usually excellent here
Great place to visit for two to three days . Lots of history and tours. Museum is small but good. Lots of good restaurants and bars . River trip is good but dent get ripped off by agents , just go down to river and book for a cheaper price directly with boat
Not impressed with this city. Like most places in Cambodia it’s absolutely filthy, littered with rubbish and the air pollution is terrible. We were glad to have taken the time to visit Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, they were both incredibly moving, but other than that we didn’t feel that the city had much to offer. It’s easy to get around by tuk tuk, but use an app like the locals do and save yourself a fortune over the drivers waiting on the streets.
Daun Penh, Phnom Penh
The room was very clean and spacious. The air conditioner was functioning properly and was much needed during the hot days in Cambodia. The bed was really comfortable and the washroom was also very clean. I wasn't able to join any of the events hosted as I had a tight schedule but the staff seem to be very engaging and lively. The restaurant was also a nice perk to have for a quick bite or a drink. Very conveniently located in the heart of Phnom Penh with walking distance to many attractions. Would definitely recommend!
All around it was the best hotel that we have stayed at in Cambodia. Because they had a room available and cleaned, they let us check in early after we arrived to Phnom Penh by bus. The staff was ever so helpful. The location is very close the night market, the bus station and other attractions. We will definitely be staying there in the future since we travel to Phnom Penh a lot. The room was a 2 story suite with 2 beds on each floor. Also with 2 bathr6. It was perfect for my husband and 3 kids.
The Pool was great on the days i stayed. Outside was hot and humid, so the pool felt great. The room i had (V.I.P. suite) was the best. Great great views.....i always went to bed with my blackout drapes open. The night view of the city was great. Breakfast to me was over priced for the offering. I chose to eat out down the street or along the river restaurants (3/4 of the price) savings of the hotel. this was minor to me..........enjoyed eating other locations
Welcome to the actually nice neighborhood. We have sidewalks and night clubs. You have a supermarket inside the building. No plastic bag needed, just take a whole cart straight to your room if you need to. Free gym and ball pit for kids. WiFi! It's not google fiber, but it's stable and above average for Cambodia. Above average for hotels too. Managed to stream in 1080p on it.
Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh
It was our second stay in Phnom Penh, the apartament is conveniently located in the city centre, close to the war museum and many cafeterias and restaurants. When you type the name of hotel on the map it is easy to find. The room was big and clean with comfortable bed. We could make a laundry BUT you have to have your own detergent. There is also a modestly equiped kitchen.
This has been the best hotel I stayed at during my 2 weeks visit to Cambodia. The staff was extremely helpfull, the room is very cousy with all the facilities you need, the room was extremly clean and fresh with nice view to the local neighbourhood. . As the windows didnt face the street it was very quite as well. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars around.
This is a value 3 star property. You get what you pay for plus the staff is very nice and the location is very central and walkable When people pay less than $40 USD night you need to adjust your expectations for that price point. The other reviews with complaints are not fair to this nice boutique hotel with nice staff. Will be back again when in Cambodia
One of the best hotels from our trip! Room was new and dated for 2022 with tech gadgets. Staff were incredibly friendly, going over and above! Hotel itself is beautiful with art and sculptures everywhere and the best part was the amazing bar and rooftop pool with amazing views of the city! We will stay here again.
The hotel is super clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. We had the room facing the river on the second floor and we booked there 2 times within 2 weeks when coming to Phnom Penh. The breakfast was included and was 5 star all the way. Definitely don’t think twice about booking here. Highly recommend!
this was one of my favorite hotels I stayed at during my trip in Cambodia. Everything was great! Service was lovely, room was clean and beautiful, pool area was very nice and the restaurant super tasty! The location is also very good, I was able to do most things by walking.
We have been in Cambodia for the past month and stayed msinlt I 4 star hotel. But the Bali which is I think a 3star had the best comprehensive breakfast of them all. The other hotel came nowhere near the quality and choice of the Bali .
One of the best places I have stayed. The rooms were big and clean, staff were friendly, convenient location, everything was perfect and it really felt like a 5 star hotel.
Standard room, TV, air con, bed and pillows comfortable. Probably the best value for money hotel you will find in Phnom Penh city centre
Very convenient hotel to stay. Best location, big room and large bed. Optional breakfast Asian and Western food.
