Location was excellent, close to everything. We were able to walk to the restaurant at night, perfectly safe. The staff at breakfast were very accommodating. Food was laid out beautifully. The staff made your coffee fresh for you every morning, whether cappuccino or espresso. And they asked if they could prepare you a hot breakfast, eggs, etc. The rooms were very clean and paid attention to little details that make a difference…good quality soaps and shampoo, bathrobe and slippers. They arranged for a driving for us before and after our stay. And had good recommendations regarding vineyards and restaurants. The owner was onsite during our visit and was very friendly and took time to chat with us.

Perfect location for seeing Franschoek and the local vineyards, the wine tram was booked out on the first day we were there and we got an Uber to the vineyards for less than €10. The staff are all very friendly, attentive and the breakfast was beautiful. There was a slightly older group of other patrons when we were there so it wasn’t too lively but it was still very calm and tranquil.

The breakfast was very well presented, delicious coffee , buffet was nice with fruit bread etc and my husband enjoyed his cooked breakfast. Everyone working at the Macaroon were helpful and friendly. The rooms were spotless and the bathroom products very subtle and smelt good.

Breakfast was wonderful, hot options made to order along with a fruit and granola buffet. The room was huge and had a beautiful working fireplace and a tub. The property looks out onto the mountain, the Luxury King room has in incredible view. There was always someone around to help if you had a question and even hot water bottle service in the evening.

We really enjoyed our stay there. We were enthusiastically welcomed by the manager and staff. Although allocated a room we were given the option of changing rooms. Our room was well equipped with all our requirements while the air con did its job during the cold evenings. Breakfast was very good with a variety of cold and hot to choose from. This establishment will definitely see us again.
