** NO LOADSHEDDING - We Have Inverter, Solar & Backup Power - So you are not likely to experience load shedding during your stay ** In the HEART of the Kwazulu Natal Midlands Meander - A “Far Away Place” 3 gay-owned cottages DASHY, NGUNI cottage & a LUXURY TREEHOUSE. DASHY has views of our beautiful dam, huge Pine forests, while NGUNI looks over fields, mountains and the Karkloof Cliffs. The TREEHOUSE looks north over 800HA of private forest. We are 5km on the old Curry's Post Road from Terbodore Coffee and a short 12km drive into Nottingham Road. The cottages are well-appointed and we have 2 dams on the property if you fancy some fishing or a swim. We are also both avid mountain bikers and will be happy to share some of our routes in the neighbouring forest with you. All our cottages feature Queen XL beds, single beds and Egyptian cotton linen for your comfort. Check out the sleeping configuration for each. The lounge, kitchen and patio are all open plan. There is also a 43” Smart 4K TV for those cold misty days – feel free to bring your own media to watch on a flash stick. The kitchen has a gas stove top, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster. Our dogs are super friendly. Not keen on dogs? Then perhaps our cottages are not for you. Parties are NOT permitted. Pets by arrangement only.
We are social people, love our dogs (we have 6 of them - 5 Dachshunds (Smooch, Toffee, Chino, Peanut and Jelly Bean) and an adopted stray from the SPCA called Lady - so if dogs are not for you, then our cottage is not recommended. Being a gay, married couple we are obviously gay-friendly - but being gay is by NO MEANS a prerequisite to enjoying our beautiful cottage in Curry's Post on the Midlands Meander. Every man dies. Not every man really lives. (William Wallace) - So come live a little when you share our “FAR AWAY PLACE”, that is not too far away from everything in the Kwazulu Natal Midlands & The Meander – Curry’s Post.
Nestled in the heart of the Kwazulu Natal Midlands & the Midlands Meander, in Curry's Post - one of the more traditional and lesser commercialized parts of the Midlands is our beautiful cottage. We are approximately 12 kilometers from NOTTINGHAM ROAD and a great location to base yourself if you plan to do the Midlands Meander, Mooi River Howick Falls, Balgowan, Mandela Capture Site, BoschHoek Golf Estate or even the Drakensberg (we are about 30 minutes from KAMBERG). My partner and I love to eat our and travel - so feel free to use us for information on where to eat, drink or visit whilst you are here. Please note that we are a approximately 6km on a dirt from Curry's Post or The Nottingham Road side - getting to the beautiful views from the cottage does mean navigating these roads, which are generally in OK condition - however, we have a small vehicle we use on the farm and it copes fine - so do not be intimidated by this. It is worth the journey - trust us! If you are unsure of the road condition, please, please connect with us when you make your booking.
