We host from exchange students to Corporate clients and Professors. Our establisment is a short 3-minute walk from the Centre of Stellenbosch, where you will find the most exquisite boutiques, restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops. The University of Stellenbosch is a short 10-minutes walk through the tree filled lanes of our beautiful historic town. Your stay in any of Life & Leisure’s impeccably decorated guest rooms is characterised by every first-class amenity you might need. All of our rooms are designed and decorated by director and business-owner Margie Potgieter. Sophisticated use of furnishings, colours and playful patterns create a unique collection of 7 guest rooms and warm welcoming communal spaces. We aim to cater to your exclusive lifestyle and travel needs by providing superior accommodation options for all travellers, be it for a leisurely vacation or business.

I named my business Life & Leisure because Life is about Adventure, Experience and Living life. Leisure for me is about reflection, relaxation and taking the time to simply be, before the next adventure life has to offer you. I thrive on and understand the challenges of the hospitality industry. Hospitality is in my blood. I thoroughly enjoy the experience of chance encounters with travelers and guests alike. This feeds my creativity as well as my other passion, which is about wanting people to feel and enjoy the genuine warmth of African hospitality. As a business owner in this sector, I am passionate about providing a genuine service -excellence experience, for the traveler. I thoroughly enjoy my other life as a ceramic artist and sculptor too. With my art back ground this “Free State farm girl” has had a long love affair with form, shapes, color, texture, spaces and light. Nature has always been my biggest inspiration alongside historic design from - architecture, interior, period furniture to fashion, glass jewelry, and garden sculpture. Travel and love for adventure, hiking, culture, theatre, couture, cuisine, gardening, and photography makes my world go round.

We are superbly situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. Site-seeing begins at our doorstep. We invite you to make use of our friendly and knowledgeable concierge desk. There is an enormous amount of choices in Stellenbosch, visit the winelands and learn about our history and our world-renowned wines, choose from a number of hiking and walking tours in our spectacular mountainous reserves, or simply soak up the historic village of Stellenbosch and acquaint yourself with the abundance of arts and crafts on offer. In the winter months we often find our guests sitting at our cosy fireplace with a book and a glass of local wine, you may choose to do the same.
