Great service and helpful staff. We are happy with with their free breakfast. It was cosy and cleanliness was up to expectations. It was very well maintained and there were no stained carpets unlike other hotels. It was so convenient to go to Durham city and we could have all our meals here when it was dark. We spend a lot of time in the cafe / pub as it was so comfortable that it felt like home. We would definitely come back if we visit Durham.

We stayed for two nights at the Victoria Inn and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. Michael and his colleagues were incredibly helpful and attentive. We arrived before check-in, but they still ensured that the room was available, which was a lovely room on the first floor. The inn itself is about 4 minutes walk from the cathedral and castle, and about 7 minutes from the city centre.

This is such a little gem! We stayed in Room 5. Beautifully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, a fabulous nights sleep and breakfast was exceptional (Compliments to the Chef!!). Daryl was very welcoming, as were the front house staff through to housekeeping. You will not be disappointed when you stay here!

Lovely place not far from the centre of Durham. Rooms are small but well equipped. Super friendly & helpful staff. Dog friendly with dogs being allowed in certain parts of the bar so they can be with you while you eat. Dinner & breakfast food to order was good.

A very unique place to stay. We had the detailed & very interesting free tour of the house & chapels on the Sunday but then enjoyed walking around on our own the next morning before other visitors came. Our bedroom was very comfy and warm and there was lots of choice for breakfast. We ate at The New Board Inn both evenings and the food was delicious with big portions. We also enjoyed a lovely visit to Durham which is only 4 miles away.
