Just about everything!! Location was amazing with great pool and alongside a river overlooking the mountains. Secure parking and neighbourhood. Purpose built rooms with loads of space. Quiet, secure with a friendly host - probaby the best guest house we've stayed in South Africa or elsewhere.

This place is an absolute MUST! It has everything you could want. Gorgeous views, truly friendly and hospitable hosts, and a really comfortable and luxurious accommodation! This is the perfect place for a reset, to connect deeply with family or friends, or a space to "switch off" from the distractions of the day. You feel completely separate from the hustle and bustle of city life here. We will recommend this place to anyone looking for a genuine getaway. We only stayed one night and had to leave earlier the next morning, so I HIGHLY recommend you book TWO nights, instead of just one. There is a refreshing dam to swim in, beautiful nature reserve walks/hikes, and hammocks to swing in and relax. It kind of has it all. My wife and I stayed here to spend quality time together, so we intentionally spent time mostly ourselves, but if you are looking for making new friendships and having a laugh, there is a communal space where you can enjoy that as well. We highly recommend this place, and will be back again if we are in the area! Don't miss the opportunity to stay here! If you are looking for a luxury outdoors experience to refocus, relax, or have fun this is the place for you!

We had to wait an hour for our cooked breakfast. Only one cook who could only slowly do 1 table a time.. toaster was terribly slow as well. They did not explain how long our breakfast would take to arrive. Only one waitress. Coffee was horrible, insipid . So much for 5 stars.

The property is tranquil and secluded, with a private hot tub and a small but luxurious pool area and gorgeous manicured gardens. The added bonus was seeing the zebra and Springbok at the bottom of the gardens. The rooms were presented like a 5 star hotel, with little touches of fresh flowers on all of the linen. we would go out of our way to stay again .

Perfect for a couple of nights stay to or from the Garden Route. The hotel has been beautifully restored and retains its Victorian Heritage. The staff are attentive and very professional. Alison, the Owner, is a talented Chef and prepares all the food. The dinner menu was excellent, offering a wide range of dishes all beautifully prepared. Breakfast was also outstanding.
