One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed in due to its surroundings and it being a Château. The big surprise was dinner! Maite is the most amazing chef. We didn’t miss one dinner! Fabulous hosts.

From the moment I stepped into the captivating setting of Cirque de Lescun, I knew I was about to embark on a journey like no other. This natural amphitheater in the French Pyrenees is a gem of nature's grandeur, offering a magical blend of majestic peaks, verdant meadows, and breathtaking views that left me utterly enthralled. One must experience the grandeur of Lescun's mountains to truly appreciate their magnificence. The jagged peaks, bearing the marks of time and weather, stand as guardians over the lush valley. The vista is a symphony of vibrant greens, wildflowers, and snow-capped peaks against the backdrop of an ever-changing sky. Whether it was the early morning mist gently curling around the peaks or the radiant sunset painting the sky with fiery hues, every moment was a sensory feast. The hiking trails are a paradise for nature lovers. Each trail in the Cirque de Lescun offers a unique perspective of the landscape, from gentle paths that meander through the valley to challenging routes that ascend the lofty summits. The 'Tour des Aiguilles d'Ansabère' was a personal highlight, with its incredible panoramic view of the pyrenean chain. The well-marked trails ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for hikers of all levels. Besides its natural allure, Lescun is steeped in rich local culture. The villagers are warm and welcoming, always ready with a friendly smile and a story to share. The local cuisine is a delight for the palate, featuring hearty dishes like local cheeses. I stayed at a quaint house that was the epitome of rural charm with large car parks which it’s highly recommended in this village with narrow streets. Cirque de Lescun is a place that both inspires and heals. It’s a place where the ruggedness of the mountains meets the gentleness of the valley, creating a landscape that is as serene as it is untamed.

Both the room, the house and the view were wonderful. We found the people there very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was more than simply satisfactory. We did enjoy our stay and will come back soon no doubt.
