This early 1800s castle is 10 minutes’ drive from Västervik. It offers fine dining, free spa access and a private beach. All rooms include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Everything was superb. The best spa we have ever used. Dinner excellent. Room fabulous with amazing view. Comfy bed and quiet rooms. Staff on reception made us so welcome and attended to our every need. Compliments to Jamie in restaurant and Veronica at reception.

We had the best ever welcome and introduction tour around the house by the hosts. We felt very welcome and cozy from the first moment! Since there were no new guests coming on the next day, the hosts even let us stay for several hours after the check out time! Rooms were big and carefully designed, you had everything as in your own home and more! You have a big kitchen, nice TV and huge party speakers, a sauna and a pool table. It's perfect for either one night or one month stay! 🙂

Yet the location is a little remote, so if you arrive late, do buy stuff in sandvik or in the city ICA or food store before going.

Hotel Skansen is located in central Färjestaden on the island of Öland. This historic, family-run hotel is 3 km away from Öland Bridge. Nice rooms, good breakfasts, friendly staff, and the spa was a pleasant addition. Great base for exploring Orland and the Kalmar area.

It offers rooms with a flat-screen TV and free WiFi. breakfast was great , location was great , excellent view from my room . staff was really kind and had an answer to all my question and a solution for all my requests .
