Nothing spectacular to see or experience - we used the two day stopover in Murcia between the Palma de Mallorca to Denia ferry ride on our way to Barcellona for the sole purpose of visiting family members
I was very surprised that Murcia is a city that has so much to offer. It felt very safe to walk around, even at night as a solo female traveller. The cathedral is wonderful and there is a lovely vibrancy to the city with plenty to see and do. I would highly recommend a visit to Murcia.
Murcia is a lovely town with nice pedestrian area, easy to walk around, easy to drive into and park compared to most Spanish cities. good night life and restaurants, but a little quieter than most Spanish cities.Could of spent another day, one day is a bit short.
We were there from Jan 1-2 and had been in Barcelona and have since been to Madrid and Segovia. Murcia had the best Christnas lights BY FAR than any of the other cities. The people were very friendly and the atmosphere was festive and fun. Loved it!!
In Murcia for a friends anniversary and the Easter procession. Great restaurants and would recommend a 2/3 night stay
Murcia is a very charming city with a nice cathedral, cosy little streets and a bustling nightlife. The local food is amazing and can be enjoyed on a variety of places - from small tapas bars and stands on many of the old town squares to posh restaurants. The locals mostly order a jug of either tinto de verano - a pleasant, cold, wine-based drink, similar to sangria or cold beer and then share it. During our stay, the streets were crowded with many students bringing a loud, but cool atmosphere, especially in the evening. The nightlife is really amazing - parties are almost everywhere. We tried a bar called Sala Revolver, where a local blues band played. The crowd was everything from young students to mid-age rockers and older couples! We happened to be in Murcia during the "Entierro de la Sardina" - the traditional burning of the sardine fish, celebrating the end of the fastening time. The whole city center was transformed to a giant festival celebration - all the streets of the carnival procession surrounded by chairs with seats being reserved already in the morning, hours before the actual procession. The old town had its own, smaller procession, where many performing groups marched through the labyrinth of small streets playing music, dancing and showing acrobatic skills. Similar to other festivals, the participants of the parade were giving small gifts, such as whistles, badges, clown accessories, etc. to the crowd, leading to an even more colorful and noisier atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had to miss the culmination of the festival - burning a giant sardine fish on one of the city squares. Really curious how the city would be when there is no festival. We would love to come back and check this out.
Great beaches, clean and safe. El Faro great to visit for panoramic views and cocktails. Typically spanish and not commercialised makes Mazarron a real Spanish holiday. And a far cry from the usual Costa's. Well contained for getting around on foot but buses can take you to the historical cities of Murcia or Cartagena in less than an hour. Newly developed marina and dive clubs. Lots of restaurants and bars.
Nothing in the city. I felt I was in Africa. It had some fine restaurants, but not fabulous. If you are thinking of going to Lorca, don't. You should rather choose Murcia.
Murcia is a great place to visit and has great places of interest to see like the Casino, the Cathedral, the Theatre to name but a few but it also has lots of tapas bars, restaurants, bars, shops and lots of parks too. It's also a University city. An excellent place to visit
We travelled down from Javea fora Capercailie concert at Teatro Circo. It was our first time in Murcia, the city centre was excellent for food, drinking, shopping and culture. We only had time for a stroll and a look round the impressive cathedral. There seemed to be a lot going on and we will definitely return at some point in the future.
Murcia
The property managers were very responsive to our requests. The apartment is cosy, nicely furnished and supplies appliances, extra blankets, sheets, pillows so that one does not feel lack. It is located some 20 min walk from the city centre in a very pleasant neighbourhood, close to the river. It has its own parking spot inside the building which makes it very convenient for travelling with a car. The city of Murcia is very nice. People are welcoming and smiling.
Very good place to stay. Great customer service and very good food at the restaurant across the road (Restaurant Pacoche). Special thank you to Sergio and Pedro. A must go if in Murcia looking for a restaurant. Breakfast at the hotel was also very good. Good variety and great customer care by the breakfast staff room. Very clean room and very clean hotel overall. Very easy access to the centre of Murcia and transport. Highly recommended.
The experience at AC Hotel Murcia by Marriott was excellent, they location and hospitality is fantastic my room window view was very nice because it gives sunlight reflection directly inside the room. Visitors is always more interested to know how the bed is in this case they're very comfortable. The room was very clean and they bathroom, with room lights is perfect and they customer's service care is unique keep it up guys.
Murcia
This hostel was spacious and secure, and very well-located. I met some really lovely fellow travellers in my room, I think Murcia in general is a very relaxed and friendly town. The best part of my stay was definitely Mario, a friendly employee who I felt very welcomed by, especially as a solo traveller (despite the language barrier!) - he showed me how to improve my pasta cooking and I will forever be grateful :-D
After travelling most of southern Spain we were very disappointed with the town itself . It was dirty , no restaurants , no bars and if you wanted food you went across the street to the gas station. The hotel itself was ok ,but we don’t recommend Murcia to anyone , it was worse than a Mexican slum compared to the rest of southern Spain . Drive 30 more kms to Alicante and really enjoy what Spain has to offer .
I always wondered how it would be to stay in this hotel and when some friends came to my house to visit, I decided to give them some privacy and book a room in Murcia for the night. I liked the fact that the gentleman at the reception desk was pleasant and informative. I was pleased with the room, thr bathroom quality, the bed was very comfortable and the fact that I can rest peacefully.
Very pleasant, reasonably priced new-build hotel with expansive view south over the river, a few minutes' walk from the main historic buildings of central Murcia.. Quiet room, very comfortable big bed and other attractive furniture, nice bathroom with excellent shower. Extensive breakfast buffet (€13 p.p.). Secure underground parking (€20 p.d.) with EV chargepoints.
The location is excellent: many cafes, restaurants, and even a large department store. Also, there are several museums highlighting the amazing culture and history of Murcia. (To our surprise they were free.) A lovely park with beautiful flowers and a cafe is a hop away. The city's food is delicious. The people from Murcia are incredibly friendly.
Location was good, near the tramvia and relatively well connected to the centre of Murcia and the University. Better if you have a car, though. No need for paid parking, there is plenty of free parking around the hotel. The gym was really good (the hotel has an agreement with a huge gym next door) but it requires a 6 euro fee for each session.
We had booked a room with a terrace - the terrace was amazing! Very large with great views of the city. It’s very central - a minutes’ walk and you’re in the old town. There’s nearby parking too which is discounted by the Hotel. We’d definitely return if we went back to Murcia (which incidentally is a fantastic Spanish place to visit).
We're to start.... We really enjoyed our stay here,as first time in Murcia(la manga) We love the sea,omg.. We really enjoyed the entertainment, the guys are awesome, make things so alive, they are really nice , We want to say to a big thank you to Gabriel in the bar outside, made us feel so good,as he speaks portuguese. Thanks xx
The location of the hotel is super convenient, directly in the center of Murcia. Once you step outside, the cathedral is only 1 minute away. Breakfast is delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they helped us very quickly and accommodated us in a different room due to a problem with our first room.
Murcia
Very nice, clean and nice apartment. We are very happy that we could stay here during our visit to Murcia. The host was very friendly and helpful and we would definitely like to stay here again in the future. The price is also very favorable and it also looks very nice! Thanks for everything
Murcia
Comfortable and very well equipped apartment in the heart of Murcia. The location in Plaza Santa Catalina could not be better, there are many bars and restaurants in the area, and the Mercado de Verónicas is only a few minutes walk away and is well worth a visit. Highly recommended.
This hotel is modern, clean and conveniently located for visiting Murcia. The room was good size and the bathroom was well equipped. The breakfast buffet was better than I had expected, with good quality and lots of choices. The parking was nearby and protected.
Apartment is ideally located on La Torre Golf Resort with the bars, resturants and golf within 5 minutes walk. Spar on site only 10 min walk. Car is needed to explore Murcia, Bea ches 20 min, Murcia city 20 min and Cartagena 30 min so ideally situated.
Not too far from the railway station, or the centre of town, this hotel is cheap, cheerful and clean. The rooms are quiet, and the staff are great. This is my go to hotel in Murcia. I've stopped here numerous times, and will stop here again.
Murcia
This is a comfortable apartment in a great area in the city. I highly recommend it and it is a great value. I had never been to Murcia before and there are so many things to do in the city. This is an underrated area of Spain.
This is a perfectly serviceable hotel - it's nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. It's also really close to the stadium, which was the most important thing, as we were in Murcia for a football match.
The apartment is very comfortable plenty of space. The location is perfect, in the very centre of Murcia. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need The owner was very friendly and helpful.
