Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Larger tv in the lounge is required. Lounge chairs were saggy and could be updated. THE AIRCONDITIONING KEPT COMING ON AND OFF AND WAS A BIT NOISY.
Room was clean and location great for the football and still reasonably close to federation square. Staff were friendly and a quiet location with ease to catch an uber or taxi from.

Parking on arrival was awkward, as I wasn't sure if I was allowed to park in front of the building or where I could. Being dark didn't help. It was awkward having to leave my car keys with reception, as they sometimes need to move people's cars. Staff was good about explaining things, but I just didn't like that it was necessary.
Good bed (not worn out, etc). Good kitchenette with all needed things. Spacious for one.

The parking on site is very convenient but it’s also small. Don’t expect to be able to park a larger car (bigger than small SUV).
Location of the property is perfect if you are going to anything at Rod Laver, MCG, John Cain etc. it was the shortest walk, but also very well lit and you never felt concerned about walking at night (two female travellers)

Our room had light mesh curtains but only one actual curtain. So, we were not able to close the curtains to sleep in longer than the crack of dawn. I think it would be best if the hotel checked that the rooms have a complete set of curtains. The room was nice but seemed a bit dated and not as clean as other hotels we’ve stayed at.
We chose this hotel as it was close to Rod Laver arena and we were going to a concert. The beds were comfortable.

Can I suggest that the single beds have a comfortable mattress topper placed on them and better pillows. The beds were very hard and the pillows were pretty average.
Mantra on Jolimont is perfectly situated within walking distance for any activity in the area of arenas. Also an easy 10 minute walk into the heart of Melbourne. Lovely aspect overlooking parklands. Nicely appointed rooms and undercover parking.

The bath plug in room 603 didn’t fit the bath, so the kids couldn’t have a bath. In the shower in room 604, there was body balm in the caddy instead of body wash

The staff were abrupt and rushed you to make choices and if you needed help somewhat berated you by treating you like you were stupid for not knowing how things worked. However was alright beyond that.
Location was good, room had all necessary amenities and was clean with a nice view.

There was a foul smell coming from our room (807). Upon inspection, there was a sewerage smell coming from the shower drain. There was also a terrible mouldy smell from the split system, so we had to opt not to use it. Parking was also an issue, as there is next to no parks available for guests.
The facility as a whole was great, it had everything we needed and the staff were lovely.

Would have liked to leave my car at the hotel after check-out.
Loved the location, close to the Rob Laver stadium. Rooms and kitchen very functional for an overnight stay. Car parking.
