Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAircon is controlled for the whole floor and it was freezing!! Did go ask for this be changed but it didn't change throughout the night. Hostel is also not the most social for solo travellers as a lot of tours start from here.
Hostel is in a great location and is generally presented really well too.

AustraliaWe had some noisy neighbours who were racing around the corridors making a noise well after 1 am. Having said that the building had good noise proofing so we could not hear the noise from the bar downstairs.
Very convenient to train station. The room and shared bathroom were clean, reception was open 24 hours and good facilities.

New ZealandIt didn't affect us as we were only staying three nights, but it would've been a struggle to find space in the fridges and kitchen cupboards - it was very busy! Has an attached nightclub, so could be a bit more lively than some might like!
The hostel is just across the road from the train station, direct from the airport. Also very close to Chinatown, as well as other nice bars and restaurants! The room was nice and bright (but with blinds) and came with free towel and soap which was nice. The communal bathroom was clean as was the room. Staff were friendly and helpful - the aircon in our room was too cold and they were able to adjust it. The kitchen was huge and well stocked with lots of space for cooking.

Thailandit's noisy at night as there is a pub down there, lound music that I could hear clearly until late at night. Also I could hear the sound fron the next room, door closing, people walking on the hallway and upstairs. I am a quick sleeper so it was ok.
The hostel meets every guest's need : comfy bed, clean place, generous common area, luggage storage , friendly staffs, great location and allows to use the common area including shower before check in and after check out that's very kind. Staffs are sooo friendly and helpful, they try their best for guest's happy stay . The hostel is just opposite Central Station, walking distance to bus stop, light train and Chinatown.

AustraliaThe Mattress was very thin and light, and slipped around on the base a lot. The shared bathroom was right at the other side of the floor which was annoying. The vending machine in the foyer was broken.
The location was great, right across the road from Sydney Central Station ad very close to China town restaurants. Hostel was very clean and facilities were good.

United KingdomI wouldn't say there was anything I didn't like. There was only one kitchen over 7 floors, which at certain times of day would get busy or crowded; especially just before it closed for the night or cleaning. Sometimes, you'd get back late from a day trip out and not be able to cook, so you had to get takeaways or walk about looking for open places.
The reception staff were always very friendly, kind and helpful at all hours. The location was very convenient for the main railway station and the trams; especially the ease of getting into town, to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge! I loved being in a small 4 - bed dorm with nice friendly other travellers. There were 7 floors, with a large communal kitchen, clean facilities and lovely hot showers. They also had a cafe, basement bar, with theme nights and travel desk in reception to help plan trips and advice on places of interest. I'd definitely stay there again when I return one day!

AustraliaIt's a shame that a young female couple were placed in a room with two middle aged men. It felt a bit uncomfortable and maybe rooming could be allocated better.
Hannah on reception who checked us in and out was super helpful and friendly! The hostel was so clean and the rooms are nice. The free coffee on departure was a gorgeous addition. The fact that hostel guests got free entry to sidebar is really nice too. Makes us want to return.

Australia•Laundry was a slight rip off for the washing considering you’re bringing your own detergent, less so for the drying. •Kitchen and dining area was a tad small for the number of guests. •Got firmly verbally shooed out of the kitchen and then the dining area by a staff member at ‘closing time’, which was not too late an hour (when there were still plenty of other guests still around) (and when I was having dinner in peace) (also the attitude and tone exhibited made it feel as if that one staff member decided they had a vengeance against me whom they’d never seen before - I was tempted to ask for a partial refund or future voucher but alas I didn’t in the end), which I’ve never seen happen at any other hostel in Australia or the world. The other hostels I’ve stayed at to date all have the common/dining/kitchen area accessible 24 hours a day. Everyone staying up for longer were ordered down to the lobby which was already crowded.
•Decent vibe •Well maintained •Reasonably clean •Friendly staff (except for one as explained in the negatives) •Helpful staff •Very easy to build rapports with fellow guests and the staff •Nice spacious rooms •Reasonably spacious lockers •Very good location just across the road from the central train station and coach stands

United KingdomIt was really hard as a solo traveller. Because this is the no.1 spot for all the tours and they will book like 7 out of 8 beds in a room for a tour etc, a lot of the people are not looking to make friends with others and already know each other. I think the hostel should really try not to put an entire room except one person all from one booking group as it makes it super hard to socialise and often uncomfortable.
Good bar, nice facilities, clean

SpainI have dust mite allergy and the bed linen really gave me a hard time every night. We stayed in a 3-people room with a bank bed that had a double bed and a single bed on top — the could have been bigger considering there were 3 of us in there + luggage for 3 people.
The bathrooms were really clean and there was a lot of space considering that is shared with everyone staying in the same floor. The kitchen was big and, despite all the people staying at the hostel, there was always space to prepare our meals. Plus, it has many fridges and cupboards to store your goods. I also got wine and cheese for free one night, which was nice! Location is really good, around 20 mins walk from CBD, next to China Town so there’s plenty of tasty and cheap restaurants.
