this is just a suggestion, but wished they had laundry machines here! It would be so more convenient rather trying to find a laundry place to do laundry.

I loved everything about Pura Vida...they had everything! I love the breakfasts and the meals they provide throughout the day for a fee. They have a bar that I really love, it’s a good spot to meet other travelers and have a good time drinking with them! I had some good times! I love the tours and activities they provide for guests. I was able to explore Rio because of that. The staff here are very nice and helpful with everything. I met the owners Felipe and Dalton and they were very nice guys. Overall I enjoyed my time here and wished I could stay longer. I’ve created some good memories here.

The bathrooms were not really nice and clean. I would not expect top notch quality but could still be better. What is really weird is that the communal restroom at the men side have see through doors.

Great social hostel with lots of activities. There is a group whatsapp which lets you know what is happening. They have workshops like caiprinha making and dancing (often the second follows after the first). Great staff also!

I had a great time at Pura Vida. There were tons of fun things to do, and I met lots of cool people. The vibe was really good—it's a party hostel, but you can also find quiet moments if you need them. I'd totally recommend it to anyone looking for a fun place to stay.

They sell a lot of tours like: Football match in Maracanã, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. You can buy at reception or by whatsapp. The staff is always very helpful, they have a good breakfast, the room was clean and comfortable.

Location is really good (close to Ipanema and Copacabana), staff (really nice and helpful), activities (every day there is something to do with the hostel), the bar, (good Vibe to meet New people) the big lockers below the bed are really practical.

Tours more expensive than 3rd party, drinks weren't amazing but were cheap, very noisy - could do with providing earplugs, and located at favela entrance, but always felt safe.

Great location, strong aircon, staff really helpful, lots of free activities, great vibe at the bar, changed sheets and towels during 6 night stay.

The notorious stairs can be workout 😂 We all loved and hated them especially after a night out 🤭but honestly, they are a landmark of this hotel that adds to the charm and experience. I had a medium size luggage with me that wasn’t fun to carry but soon you’ll make friends to help you carry it when you leave 💝

Very social hostel with other great travellers. They organize great excursions and are attentive to any questions you may have. I loved how there was someone on site to help you get a SIM card/data plan.

The hostel was close to the beach and was in a lively neighborhood. From the moment i arrived at the hostel I felt really at home with super friendly staff and special thank to Victor who made my holiday and helped me a lot to buy tickets so i could go to the sambodromo I will definitely visit again

There are a lot of steps but it’s worth it

I stayed at Pura Vida on two separate occasions during my time in Rio de Janeiro and both stays were brilliant! There is great vibe for both people who want to party in eve and explore the city during the day which are both created by the amazing staff who are arranging events every day for the guests to enjoy which was great for meeting other guests! The staff from start to finish were amazing! I stayed in a private room both times and each time I was very happy with my room. One further thing Pura Vida provides is the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and excursions even after you’ve left. Allowing you to book things even though you have finished staying there. When I return to Rio I would definitely stay at Pura Vida!

The lively environment at the bar at night in addition to the free tours, planned activities, and amazing staff makes this place the perfect spot for a first time in Rio! Renata and Axel are the best as they hang out with the guests and are happy to show the best spots around the city while Christian is the best bartender for sure! Look no further this is the perfect spot for Carnival or any time of the year really

There are many steep steps from the street level to the reception and then further to the room. It does add some charm though. There are awkward high steps in the room leading to the bathroom and kitchen. It was noisy until after midnight from partying in the bar area. We didnt mind the noise but other people might not like it. Maybe this hostel is more for younger people. The rest was perfect.

Nice location near Copacabana beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size. Kitchen facilities was good, although we didnt use it. There are nice areas to relax.

It was so humid in Rio you could feel the moisture in the air in the room and it made everything feel wet and sticky. They did have air con in the room though

It was in a good location in terms of being in the middle of Copacabana and Ipanema. Rooms were pretty comfortable

The area around the hostel is sketchy but if you keep your eyes open and don't wander alone at night you won't have any issues.

I loved the vibe of the hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's very close to Copacabana Beach and there are lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

The only thing is the mattress and the pillows are covered in like a plastic cover and then the sheet on top, so it's a bit uncomfortable.

This hostel is really great, would highly recommend. It's in an ideal location, 5 min walk to copacabana beach, close to shops, restaurants and bars. It's really big with a great vibe and all the staff are super helpful and friendly (Renata and Matt). They have lots of activities everyday including paid tours and free tours which they have on a big white board and in the group WhatsApp. You can go on beach days on the free tours and just need to pay for the uber. They also have lots of hikes and rarely morning paid tours, and up to Christ redeemer too. There's happy hour in the evening, 2 for 1 drinks for an hour and then normally some event on after, like beer pong competition or a DJ and tattoos. The wifi works well and the showers have hot water and good pressure too!

Nothing!!! everything was great!

Everthing was 10 out of 10! Had the best time in Pura Vida. This hostel is special also because of the vibe and the people that are working there! Matt and Victor from the front desk are so nice and kind everything you asked the will help you with it if the can! The tourguides Leonardo, Renata and Tarik are the best. Giving such nice tours and there personality is so nice and warm. People behind the bars, Mees, Luca, Ria and more so sweet. This place is special because you feel so welcomend and you make very fast friends. The location is super!!!! And the activities that where organized in the hostel where super. So if you want to go to Rio and stay in a hostel, choose Pura Vida you wont regret it!!!
