Walls are a bit thin between rooms as we could hear our neighbours closing drawers, etc. Breakfast could get a little repetitive.

If you are looking to be in the center of the city, this is a half mile walk up a steep hill. We did not mind it, but be aware. The WiFi was pretty weak. The "gym" was more of a small room with some weights (I did not use, but would have if more was available there).

We had originally booked our stay at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, but realized that we wanted something a bit more economical. For a little less than half the price, we booked Hôtel des Coutellier. Friendly staff is an understatement. They were just lovely, every single one of them. The room was great. It was a bit compact, but everything we needed: A king bed (comfortable), a very nice bathroom, a fridge. For those who need, there is a TV, and a DVD player (I assume they work. We did not use them). Breakfast was coffee, OJ, and two bread items (usually, a croissant) and were yummy (Also, cheese one morning), coffee/tea/apples-always available up front. It was pretty quiet, even though near the street, but I would have liked to be on the top floor (no shoes overhead there). Also, free WiFi.

My head really sunk into pillows which hurt my neck. Ended up having to use my travel pillow for sleep.

Enjoyed the daily breakfast basket delivered to the room with fresh croissants and other pastries! (Not packaged!) Also included items like yogurt, jam, and orange juice. Coffee downstairs every morning, with the exception of the last morning when coffee machine was broken. Also had fruit in the lobby (bananas and clementines daily). Beds were comfortable.

Nothing…we loved it. I travel quite a bit and this is probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!

We loved that this hotel thought of every little detail, not just the shampoos and soaps. There were things like a wine bottle opener, a nap of the city, makeup cloths, robes, an umbrella and more! We loved the bagged breakfast with the hook outside the door to return it each day. Everything was also spotlessly clean!

The bathroom conditioner was not refilled after the first day. Double bed was a bit small for 2 adults.

Breakfast is reasonable and adequate. The location was not too far from the old city. Parking is cheap at $15/night.

Staff excellent…..service impeccable…breakfast great. Good location, right off the harbour, walk to old town best via funicular or a short climb up to the lower city. Plenty of options for food/drink….great little bar right next door, with pub grub and outdoor viewing of all that walks by.

I chose this hotel for the location near the railway station, as this is how I arrived. I caught a flight home, taxi arrived 5 minutes after booking. It was ideal for the old town, which is superb.

The parking for arriving guests is non-existent! Dropping off bags when checking in and loading up when leaving was so difficult we have to reconsider staying here in the future. The lighting in the rooms is horrible. The lamps have three-way sockets but only one-level CFL lamps. 3-way bulbs would be helpful.

The hotel is well maintained. Bathrooms have been updated and are very nice! We interacted with staff on each shift. They were all very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was continental, left outside of the room and limited, we weren't aware of it at the time of booking, otherwise we would have booked the room only. The bathroom was small for the room, toiletries were not replenished and had to ask for a bath gel. No supply of drinking water, being asked to leave tips in the room with a credit card.

Quiet good-sized room with nice decor and very comfortable bed, Location is very convenient if travelling by train as it is 5 minutes-walk to the train station, The restaurant at the hotel, the Legend was excellent.

The bathroom shower needed a repair because it got very screechy after the water ran for a short amount of time. It's an easy plumbing fix. The drawers under the beds needed to be dusted out.

I called ahead and ask that we get yogurt each morning in our breakfast. The breakfast was hanging outside our door every morning at 7am. Super nice.

Breakfast was on a hook every morning and perfect. A croissant with juice and a slice of cake or muffin. Yogurt and granola. The location was great except for the one big hill to walk.

Beautiful hotel, lovely large room with fantastic amenities. A nice simple breakfast of pastries and juice was included each morning. Reception staff were extremely helpful and kind. Great location to walk everywhere around the city. Would definitely recommend due to location, quality of room and staff.
