Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

That it is getting and looking run down.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, WiFi was down, and it the Hotel is getting run down as well. Staff was friendly and the TV stations were good.

Smoke smell in the room. It’s fine anyway.
It was cleaner than I expected. My kids weren’t too happy with their room. Poor air quality and smelled like smoke.

Extremely loud, directly on the highway. Animals in the walls and ceiling. Furniture old and very worn.
Friendly staff. Good wifi, cable TV with Netflix. Parking infront of room.

The ceiling fan in room 20 would have to be fixed. When we turned it on, the fan made a strange noise and it seemed like it was going to go off the hook.
This motel is a modest place to stay if you are passing through. Cleanliness and comfort are acceptable. It's inexpensive and the photos fit reality.

broken outlets & open wires in the room. dirt looked to be swept behind the bathroom door or under the sink since there was piles in each area. door lock was poor/hard to use.
bed was comfortable. nice that a microwave and fridge was provided.

The place needs a lot of improvement. The room we're we stayed, the bed cover and sheets has some hair on it. We are not sure if it was clean properly. The staff did not mentioned about the internet and found only after check-out when I flipped the back side of the receipt.
At least there's is microwave and fridge in the room

Tiny room. Stale smoke
The location was good. Restaurant looks permanently closed. Room was tiny and the stale smoke smell was hard to overlook. The wi fi was good and lots of tv channel selections

Every year a little bit more run down. Everything so old. One room stunk like something had died in there. I think they are just going to let it fall down.
The location is good. Didn’t hear highway noise. Bed was very comfy. Like there’s a mini fridge and microwave.

The check in clerk was an obnoxious young man who couldn't even remember what time the office was open. Was too busy talking to a friend who popped in to bother being courteous with paying customers. The mattresses are in serious need of replacement, unless you like a soft mattress
If you are looking for a place to rest your head, this is a cheap option. The hotel is run down and showing its age, but still holds some potential. The room was clean but very sparse

The room was very small. It had a very large armoire to hold the tv, microwave and fridge. It blocked the only closet in the room and seemed very out of place. The room smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Very unpleasant.

The restaurant outside area showed evidence of someone sleeping there. There was assorted items left behind, pill bottles, underwear ,clothing etc. The buildings are in a very poor state and show considerable neglect.

If you're expecting a Ramada, this isn't it.
Keep your expectations low, but if you're looking for a cheap room to sleep in it fits the bill - plus they won't overcharge you for a dog (like the Motel 6 in Revelstoke does)

The walls, ceiling and the ac isa graveyard for little flies. We killed about 40 flies before giving up. Killed 2 spiders and counted at least 7 other spiders. Everything had a layer of dust and there were spider webs everywhere. Smell you get used to after a while, but the person in the next rokm kept yelling at someone all night long. Couldn't sleep because of all the insects and the dirt. Not sure how clean the bed, pillows and the bed sheets were. Although the cheapest option at Revelstoke, I didn't expect all the insects, spider webs and the dirt.
Absolutely Nothing! I won't stay there again of someone paid me to stay there.
