3 spiders on the ceiling (understand hard to avoid in forest) and shower area hadn’t been cleaned in awhile as had pink film on white grouting (again just being picky but found I could wipe off with a cloth when I was in shower). The flooring was also a bit old needing updating.

The pools were very relaxing. The front desk staff very helpful. Didn’t get a chance to go to restaurant (short stay with dinner plans with family) but did eat at cafe for breakfast. Food was terrific and staff pleasant.

Terrible (huge) pillows. Doing the housekeeping (stripping beds, sweeping floor) reminded me of being in a hostel. We were warned about the restaurant, but not eating a special meal with wine on a terrace was a huge disappointment. No discount was offered for having to eat food truck meals.

The accomodation was good, we stayed in Chalet 11B and it was nice and private but we had noisy house mates above us. We plan to return but we would get a one unit cabin or chalet closer to the main lodge. The mattress on the queen bed was not that comfortable for two, there were two queens in the room. We will seek a king bed next time. The setting and grounds were beautiful, too bad the lake was so low.

What ruined it for us was the pools. The hot and cold pools upstairs had noisy children and other families were very loud and obviously drinking alcohol, hidden in water bottles although alcohol was not allowed and there was a fine … it was not enforced. Consequently, the pools were not spa-like and quiet and relaxing but just like being at a swimming pool. At other spa/ springs we have visited. Water is given throughout the pool area through taps but NO container is taken into the pool.

Beautiful location and buildings. Cabin was incredible. I loved the decor and it had everything you could need. Food in the restaurant was exactly what we wanted. Good menu where we could eat more or less. Breakfast was excellent. I even loved the flowers on the way in too. The pools looked amazing.

Regarding the staff. The two women who served us drinks and dinner were very helpful and aware of our needs, as was the man who served us breakfast. Tyler, a young man even gave us a cart ride to our cabin when the key card failed to work. Now here is the downside on staff. It rests with the young man who we first encountered at the reception desk. We were very early for the 4:00 P.M. check in. He seemed to be more interested in detailing the rules to us than welcoming us to our stay. He was quick to collect an extra $40.00 for us to use the the pool facilities prior to 4:00. However he was unhelpful in explaining the facilities to us. When we asked him about the Halcylon history his response was to say he knew nothing. We recommend that he reads “ The story of Halcylon Hot Springs “ written by Rosemarie Parent and easily found on the web sites for Halcylon. First impressions are important and ours was dismal. Will we return? We have not decided.

We are a couple in our 80s with some mobility limitations. We drove the five hours from Kamloops to spend an overnight at Halcylon. We enjoyed our stay. Cabin 6 was outstanding. After some learning we were able to navigate the hot springs facilities with few problems. A nine out of 10.

Too expensive to stay any longer. Complimentary breakfast was a bonus especially considering the overall cost. Very nice breakfast though. Would have enjoyed being able to have access to Pools earlier in the morning (before breakfast).

Atmosphere lovely, very relaxing. Pools refreshing and rejuvating.. Accommodation was clean, and comfortable. Overall a lovely place to go for a quiet getaway.

I booked a 2-bedroom chalet for 3 people. But the resort called and said there was a problem with booking.com. Therefore, they downgraded it to Creekside Cottage and then changed it to Loaf Cottage. But they offered me a 30% discount. However, when checking out, they said the Loaf cottage was for 2 people, and they charged me $160 as an additional person, which was unfair and disappointing. In mu opinion, these shouldn't charge me for an additional perosn.

The atmosphere was good. The staff was friendly and almost supportive.

Breakfast was unacceptable for a highly rated resort, should have been told that the massage therapists were not RMTs. Paid way too much for nonregistered massage therapists and were unable to submit for coverage.

The decor of the hotel and the guest room was basic. The room configuration was a bit strange - one walked into the bedroom from outside and had to watch TV from the bed while the sofa, wardrobe and dining / kitchen areas were further in from the bedroom. The staff at the reception were not well trained - one example was that when we checked out, we were asked whether we had breakfast and whether we left some gratuity! The resort was in the middle of nowhere but there were not any kind of recreations, like pool table, board games, etc. provided, so in the evening, other than spending 20-30 minutes in the hot springs, there was no other activities.

The property was clean throughout and the staffers at the restaurant were very helpful and pleasant. Food was tasty. The hot springs pools were not too busy so one could really relax. We stayed for 2 nights which was just right.
