Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomYou had to run the shower for some time before any hot water appeared. No hot water coming from the sink tap in the evening.
The location was very good, within the city walls. There was car parking available but limited space. Staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast was very good & the additional tea & coffee available in a separate room 24hrs was a bonus.

United KingdomSlightly “tired” feel of the general decor
Charming old building with tall ceilings, on a beautiful tree-lined boulevard. A homely feeling; helpful staff; secure parking on site; large balconies facing an ivy-covered chapel; decent breakfast; within a ten min walk to the Papal palace.

SpainThe mattress should be renewed (not critical). No cafe machine in the room (but available for free at the reception).
The reception guy was very helpful and the lobby is very cozy. The location is good, close to some nice bars where you can have dinner with live music. Quiet neighborhood

AustraliaNothing!
This lovely old hotel is situated near the centre of town and near the railway station. It has the added advantage of having private parking. The breakfast was delicious. We were only booked for one night but managed to secure an extra night and the staff could not have been more accommodating.

AustraliaDisappointing that the wifi wasn’t available in our room and only worked in the hotel lobby. Terrace had potential, the pot plants needed some care.
It was in a quiet, convenient location. Sunny terrace. Great breakfast . Excellent, friendly, helpful staff, especially Harald, Gaile, and Hamid.

TaiwanThis is a 2 start hotel, and that's what you get. But i have to say, it was more than enough. Breakfast was good, the Concierge Philip was super helpful and made the stay and trip great.

United States of AmericaIt's a small family owned hotel in a very nice and safe location. The hallways were a little bit outdated but clean. The AC in any scale above low was very noisy. Rooms facing the front seem bigger. Very quiet!± Also, the most comfortable mattress and pillows I have slept in a hotel so far. They have complementary coffee and tea. The breakfast was very good. The staff were amazing. Very close ro the train station. Overall, I would go back if I am back in Avignon.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like.
Location was in a quiet street but close to the centre of Avignon. Railway and bus station were just a few minutes walk away. Relaxed breakfast times. Staff were very friendly and there was always someone on the front desk. We were given a map of the city upon arrival.

SpainBedroom a little dated and bed small and needs renewing. Totally acceptable though but maybe a tiny bit pricey comparing to other places. That said, we'd choose this hotel again over the plusher places in town hands down thanks to the staff and welcome which we rate much higher.
The staff, in particular Philippe! Incredible welcome and front of house facilities including free teas, coffee, library, social area... The breakfast was the best we had in two weeks. Philippe went out especially to get some delicious gluten free bread for me. Boil your own eggs. Something for everyone. Thanks so much for that, France is tricky for people with allergies :-) We'd come back!
