Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

No lift but that wasn't a problem for us.
Very central to everything. About 10 minutes walk from Eurostar, 3 minutes to the main Lille train station and it's on the edge of the old town. Everything is walkable and so many places to eat and see. Great buffet breakfast Great value for the price

No parking, the room was also very, very cold (it was a cold winter day that we spent there). The bathroom arrangement was weird. The toilet was its only little room, but the washing basin and shower were in the room separated from the rest of the room by only a thin wall and a curtain.

The only negative point we encountered was that our water in the shower didn't fully flow away.
The welcome was amazing. The hostess speaks French and English fluently. It was the most friendly hostess that I have encountered. After our checkout, she gave us the option to leave our luggage there until we were ready to go home. The room was very clean. The room also included a microwave oven, which was a nice touch.

Rooms were a little compact but adequate for our 3 night stay Shower was up 2 steps so was a bit careful When getting in and out and Reception was on first floor

There is no elevator and some steep stairs to climb to our our room on the second floor, though that did not bother us too much.
The hotel was freshly decorated in a wonderfully flamboyant French style. Our room, though small, was cleverly laid out so included everything that we could have needed. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Our hosts, despite having not a word of English, did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts were fine and great value for money. The location suited us well. It was about a ten minute walk to both the city centre and Lille Europe train station.

There is no elevator in the hotel and it might be a bit inconvenient for someone bringing a big suitcase, especially if their room is on the upper floor.
The location was great, it is very close to the station and city centre. The room is clean, it is not very big, but enough for two people. My friend and I did not spend a lot of time in the room, so it was just fine for us. The staff is friendly.

nothing - everything was perfect!
the property is located centrally, only a couple of minutes away from the railway station. The owner was super nice to me and I was allowed to check in before the official time.

If you have to pay more than 100€ in the high season, it's not worth it. You can hear sometimes toilet flush from the other rooms above. The pillows are bad.
Everything you need, we'll renovated, good beds. Great location, right at the station, 10min to the Centre
