Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDisappointed in the bedroom. It was a business trip which entailed me working in my room. No proper table and a small room. Also, would have liked a warning that the kitchen shuts early as I was unable to get room service on my last evening. (I’d been looking forward to a nice steak!)
Return visit so almost everything.

United KingdomCourt yard could be lovely but sadly very unkept which is a shame as it’s a lovely little outdoor area. Parking is a 5 minute walk up a steep hill in a local sporting complex car park.No problem for us but could be an issue for others .
Spacious room with doors onto a courtyard which were ideal as we had our dog. Lovely bar/restaurant & lovely friendly staff

AustraliaThere was building works going on during our stay, had to drag our 25kg luggage upstairs, then downstairs , then up again. No help was really offered. The breakfast was tasty but would have preferred being able to select food and drinks from a buffet style, rather than food coming out in a random order. Staff could have been more friendly, or at least not be within earshot when talking about its visitors.
Booked multiple rooms for family members. The single rooms were tiny, bathroom was in a closet, however it was clean. The main suite / superior king room was awesome, huge, opening up onto courtyard and was very comfortable. The restaurant attached (Blocks) was expensive but had awesome food, the best gravy I’ve ever tasted. Would definitely stay here again :)

United KingdomThe town generally was very quiet on Mondays and Tuesdays with only one or two restaurants actually open in the evening, including Blocks, the restaurant within the hotel, so we never got to eat there. From Thursdays, most places are open. Apparently, there's not enough visitors to warrant the restaurants opening on the off-chance, which is a great shame for the whole town. More visitors would benefit everyone.
Location - Delighted to find that the hotel was in original old building, right in the main town so it was an easy and interesting walk along to the birthplace of William Wordsworth. Room was spacious with all amenities - tea/coffee making facilities, tv, hairdryer, free WiFi, small ironing board and iron, ensuite had great mirror with motion sensor light and clock built into mirror Breakfast menu was superb with generous portions plus the option of a Breakfast Box, with yoghurt, cheese, flapjacks and apples Staff were generally very helpful and pleasant

Breakfast was included even though we missed it, due to where the hotels situated. We had so much so to every evening we slept passed breakfast! The town is lovely, the hotel is 10/10 in every way and well worth the price you pay. Huge rooms, extremely clean and the staff are lovely.

United KingdomThe bar closed quite early (shortly after ten) which made us feel that we had to retire to our rooms earlier than we would have liked..
The staff were extremely helpfu and pleasant. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The restaurant food was very good for both dinner & breakfast (at which there was an excellent choice!)

United KingdomIt's a shame that residents can't sit in the bar after closing. My friend likes to wind down after a gig. We were happy to drink our own drinks, but we didn't feel welcome to stay, we had to sit in one of the rooms.
The staff were really friendly and the room was lovely and airy. Our friend was playing at Kirkgate Arta Centre and it's only 5 mins walk away which was great.

United KingdomJust little niggles. Such as a toilet roll holder in the family room and maybe a second mirror. Would have been great. And a fridge would have been good luckily we were able to use the fridge in the 2nd room we booked on our stay. But other than that. Stay was great.
Staff were exceptional. Katrina went above and beyond to make our girls enjoy their holiday more. Our oldest who was celebrating her birthday was made to feel so special. Nothing was a problem for the staff.

United KingdomThe hotel is in an excellent location close to the many pubs and restaurants. The hotel combines modern with some nice original features. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything you would expect and need. The Restaurant is exceptional as are all the staff. Breakfast was included and the value for money overall is exceptional. I’d highly recommend Allerdsle Court Hotel and can’t wait to return again.
