The soundproofing between rooms could’ve been better There was a faulty lamp in the bedroom that we would’ve liked of used if we could have.

Location of the Riverside was beautiful. Having a balcony was lovely, even though it was winter. The food was absolutely superb and the staff were attentive, friendly , courteous, and very obliging.

Couldn’t fault it!

Had to stay in the area unexpectedly due to some freak weather conditions and being unable to get back home. Wow, what a wonderful hotel! It ended up being very busy because so many travellers couldn’t complete their journey but the staff coped wonderfully under quite challenging circumstances. They were all so welcoming and friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had everything they needed. We were so grateful to have found this fabulous haven after some pretty scary driving conditions and flooding and they were even able to accommodate our two dogs. We were given a beautiful river-view room which was warm and spotlessly clean and felt extremely lucky to have found such a beautiful place to stay having previously thought we’d end up sleeping in our car as everywhere in the area was fully booked!

There is a fantastic restaurant however it was not suitable for short business trip. The options are a bit limited if you are just wanting a quick bite to eat.

Location was beautiful and easy to find. Only stayed one night for business. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They couldn't do enough. I chose to stay in the main building for convenience as the other buildings are a bit of a walk.

Weather was wet, misty and damp so were not able to enjoy the grounds!

It was raining when we arrived, the room was nice and warm. Lovely fluffy towels and products for our use. Tea, coffee & biscuits available in the room. The breakfast was buffet style, with plenty of choice, very tasty. Crafts and Art available to purchase in reception, great for last minute gifts. Plan to return in late spring! Great value for money.

It was a nightmare to find. Travelling to the destination via sat nav I arrived in the postcode area and there was absolutely zero indication of the hotel's location. I checked on Google Maps and drove to a driveway that had 'Goods Entrance' signs but no indication of accommodation provision. I 'discovered' the next morning that there is a grand driveway from a totally different direction that has hotel signs at the entrance gate, and that I had approached the hotel 'from the wrong direction'. Surely any direction is the right one? The entrance gateway I used needs either a directional sign directing new guests to the correct gate or a welcome sign indicating that this is a way to reach the hotel. Very limited (and expensive) 'bar snacks' menu. Nothing appealed. I picked up my phone and Google Maps identified an alternative venue just three miles away where I subsequently had an excellent two course meal with drinks that cost less than the advertised bar snack offered at the hotel! Away from the main drive and reception area vehicle access to 'Riverside' and other areas was not the best, with several deep potholes that are crying out to be filled. For a hotel to advertise itself as a four star establishment a guest, I think, has a right to anticipate that potholes will not be apparent.

I booked this hotel based purely on the reviews I had read on booking.com. It appealed in terms of value for money, location and facilities, and overall I was not disappointed. Quite the reverse in fact, I was delighted! I had a 'Riverside' room in a separate building some distance from main reception. Arriving in darkness I had no real appreciation of why it was called Riverside. Well I discovered at first light next morning that I had an uninterrupted view of the River Tay flowing by, and was delighted to have a door leading direct from the room out on to an expansive grass area and then the riverside. The hotel has a very enlightened policy when it comes to guests' dogs. We were able to roam at will in the grounds with the dog off lead. She absolutely loved it!

Staying in one of the lodges was a bit like a hostel (albeit ensuite) so the value for money wasn't great. Perhaps we didn't have the best experience with it because it was torrential rain!

The breakfast was amazing. Some buffet breakfasts can be a bit cold but this one was particularly good. The staff were very approachable and cheerful. The setting is beautiful - we were only there one night but saw a wealth of wildlife in the vicinity.

Our room was too hot overnight and we could not see how we could turn the radiator down.

Our evening meal was superb. The food was presented well and tasked delicious. Breakfast too was excellent. I liked the way the fried eggs were served on potato scones and the poached eggs on a crumpet.
