The shower temperature was an issue, much too hot and we couldn't change it. Very fixable. It's a good journey to Oxford by bus but easy by car.

A great find. Perfect for a family. Lovely staff, great food and set in a sleepy village near Oxford

Poor choice of cereals. Difficult to climb the stairs. Staff didn't pick up all the charges to the separate rooms which caused extra work later.

Dinner was better than we expected. Excellent breakfast choices. Nice room with character. Large modern bathroom. Good real ales with a spacious bar.

The bridge between Cumnor and Oxford is currently being upgraded and is non traffic able to vehicles. Making taxis expensive. There is a local bus which is cheap and runs every half hour or so, About a 5 minute uphill walk to the bus strop.

The room was of a good size and was clean and comfortable. The food at the hotel was very good. Staff were friendly and professional.

Beautiful property and comfortable room. Location was great and we felt so relaxed out in the quiet village. Used the local buses to get to and from Oxford, no problem. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant one night. Staff were all extremely welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended, will be back next time i stay near Oxford.

Shower had a shower curtain rather than door but was in the attic space so don't really think you could fit much else.

Helpful staff. Great breakfast choice. We ate in the restaurant and food was very nice.

    Nothing!

Lovely quaint pub with traditional snug areas and open fires as well as modern dining annex. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, and a huge bathroom, all beautifully presented. Access via narrow winding stairs didn’t bother us, in fact added to the overall ambiance - although hubby had to learn to duck through the doorways. The restaurant was brilliant - both for breakfast and other meals - and with great coffee.

Nothing to complain about really. Husband was not very impressed with the breakfast.

Lovely dinner. the rooms are a little hard to access, with narrow stairs but this was stated in the website, from what I recall. would ask for a more accessible room if I was staying there again. Friendly staff. Good selection of non-alcohol beers available.

    Nothing to say!

We had a very relaxing stay - perfect stop over on the outskirts of Oxford. The rooms were large and quiet, and the beds very comfortable so we had a wonderful night's sleep. The staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. The hotel had a private carpark and excellent bus connections to Oxford.

    Great Service and Great Location

The one small issue we encountered with our stay was that, being used to sleeping in a king sized bed, we found sleeping in a double bed slightly uncomfortable/cramped. I would add this did not detract from our stay as we would be more than happy to stay here again in the future whenever we visit the area and are more than happy to recommend staying here.

We decided to stay at The Bear and Ragged Staff for the first time as we wanted to spend a few days in Oxford as my wife had not visited the area before. We were both very pleased with our choice of staying here as the service we received was generally excellent throughout our stay and the food/meals we had were first class. The staff were very attentive and keen to do whatever they could to make sure our stay was a pleasant one.The location is also ideal for being a good base to be able to explore Oxford and the surrounding area. Be aware that parking in Oxford is expensive so we would recommend using the local 'park and ride' service at Seacourt which is great value, £5.00 for the day, and offers frequent services. If you like shopping there is a Designer Outlet Village at Bicester, about 20 minutes away, which is well worth visiting.
