Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAbsolutely Nothing. Road in has potholes etc, but that’s to do with the council not the hosts
Location is gorgeous, real working farm, great views, hosts encourage you to explore and meet the animals (sheep, horses, ducks, chickens) The hosts were lovely interesting people, knowledgeable and great to talk to. My son and I had a ball! The house itself is beautiful, comfy beds, equipped kitchen, clean large shower, dvds and dvd player etc. Definitely recommend for those seeking outdoors/farm life.

The location was brilliant. The roads in the area, although minor, are in very good condition and very quiet. The views from the living room are fantastic. The bedroom enormous. The furniture etc very tasteful and the layout perfect. The heating was good when needed, but the bungalow is generally a very warm building. The sheep were beautiful. This place is as faraway from the mad world you can get, and yet relatively easy to get to, and then when you get back to the mad, mad world relish the memory.

United KingdomThe public road access is tricky, in common with a lot of rural roads it is not getting the maintenance it needs and has a lot of potholes. Need to take care and drive slowly en route to the property. Obviously this is not something that the owners have any control over.
The location is lovely, nice views and the owners are very pleasant and welcoming.

United KingdomWater pressure was an issue, but not the fault of the owners! Hob a little tricky to get the hang of but once shown, it was fine.
Lovely location for me but perhaps a bit inaccessible for some. I loved it. It suited my needs and was very comfortable to be in. Lovely view from the picture windows across the valley.

United KingdomNo fault of the hosts - access is on very poor roads, care should be taken.
We were surrounded by sheep, dogs, chickens and ducks, red kites circling above. Situated on a rise there were views across the valley, darkness and quiet at night. The stone built cottage was warm and the beds comfortable. The kitchen is small but well thought through.

United KingdomNothing.
We were welcomed by Simon as soon as we arrived. The cottage was spacious and had everything in it we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the cottage was extremely clean. We were encouraged to see the lambs, sheep, pony, chickens, and dogs, which my boys absolutely loved. The scenery and views are exceptional, and we had a lovely, quiet weekend away. We would definitely recommend a stay here, and we'll definitely be back.

United KingdomThere is a rough section of drive with large lumpy rocks, which leads to the parking outside the property (just off the smooth drive in photo, which shows main farmhouse)-it would be fine in a 4x4. I would love to stay another time if this was fixed, or parking allowed on smoother track at the front.
Very peaceful and dark sky area, ideal for good nights sleep. Spacious accommodation and lovely lounge with views of fields, very clean, nice shower room. Didn't see hosts apart from check in, I was visiting family nearby so wasn't at property much.

United KingdomWe used the cottage at Boreland Farm as our base when we visited friends who live nearby. The accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was spotless, spacious and had everything we needed, down to really helpful extras like sugar and dishwasher tablets - useful if you forget those type of things! Simon and Philippa were terrific hosts - welcoming, warm and let the children have run off the place. They loved visiting the lambs and seeing the chickens and ducks wandering around. The views were spectacular. Would not hesitate to fully recommend this place.

United KingdomThe surrounding roads are difficult to navigate in the dark if you don't know the area as there is a few potholes. That being said we managed fine in a vauxhall corsa so wouldn't let that put you off.
Everything about this stay was perfect. The owners went above and beyond and even took us out every morning to feed the sheep which they didn't have to do and they also stopped to chat and make you feel welcome whenever they seen you.
