Hotel was in need of attention. Paint over windows outside front, plants growing in guttering, outside of building looks unloved. Room ok, but attention to detail is needed. Windows dirty especially on runners on sash windows, mould on shower screen. Shame as lovely location. It needs management to look at small detail in rooms re cleaning.

Earlier breakfast start would have been better. a 7am breakfast meant that I left later than I would prefer resulting in driving through heavy traffic.

The decor is dated and shabby you can actively see where walls have been fixed and repainted (badly) in the rooms. There is mold around the windows. The room was ridiculously cold! Even with radiator on full and 2 duvets. The bathroom grout is dirty and during a midnight toilet break I saw silver fish insects on the floor. Not what we expected for the price tbh. They call themselves a spa but there is no spa unfortunately. It’s a leisure facility in a completely separate building shared with the public with a basic cold swimming pool, often full of screaming children and a dated gym. There is an eggy smell around the drains of the pool it’s very off putting. The steam room didn’t even work whilst we were there. Staff tried to get me to put a card on my room for “extras” I refused because I only had my work card on me from the day and knew I wouldn’t use any extras anyway. The look the receptionist gave me when I refused was nothing short of snobby in my opinion and quite rude. All other staff were lovely.

Nice grounds, lovely reception area. Beds were very comfortable and they provided us with extra pillows and duvets on request. Tea and coffee facilities in rooms. Good water pressure for the bath and hot water.

There weren't any negatives regarding the property.

The manager and staff were so wonderful, really accommodating with my son and his support dog. The room was of a good size and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful with gorgeous walks through the woodland.

Bathroom clean but a bit outdated.

Hotel was clean. Room was comfortable and had everything needed. Bar was a nice area to spend the evening. Really nice to have access to the gym and pool.

Being charged £25 for our dog which was not even a carpeted floor in the room and there was nothing provided for our dog unlike other hotels we’ve stayed in, who have charged less for a two night stay.

The room was clean and breakfast was okay but we thought a bit overpriced at £15 each so didn’t think that this was good value.

Be careful, staff are rude and they add extra charges on that you didn’t agree to, my sister is awaiting an £80 refund! I think there is a drainage issue as smell of drains is present in the bar a long with over priced drinks!!

Room smaller than anticipated. Housekeeping only made one bed. bedsheets poorly fitting and no mattress protector. Insufficient vegetarian options at bar and breakfast, didn't stay for dinner.

Location. Price. Happy staff. Super clean. Breakfast was good. Happy to accommodate dog. Grounds enjoyable. Easy and plenty of parking. Will return.

There was a really Arsy not friendly or helpful person working at the gym/pool on the Sunday that put a real dampner on what had been a nice few days. It wasn't great that kids who were staying in the accommodation could only use the pool at certain times. Kids don't really understand that if they're on holiday. It definatly wasn't a spa holiday. If I was going expecting treatments ect I'd be disappointed. They no longer offer this as advertised. There is no jacuzzi either but as a family with a 10 year old the pool was what we'd really gone for personally. The sink in our bathroom was a bit slow to drain. This wasn't a real problem. It was very hot in the room. On the 2nd night we opened the window and then it was OK. Room service wasn't something that was offered. It might be a nice thought to offer it but my guess is there wasn't the staff to offer this. The lovely man on reception brought our food down however as the phone in our room didn't work to tell us it was ready. This made my daughters world as she'd always wanted room service like in the movies. Nice man at the reception you made a little girl very happy 😊

Friendly warm welcome on arrival. We like the 2 men on reception. Really friendly and helpful. Made adaptations to accommodate our young daughter. Breakfast was beautiful. Lots of choice, vegan available. Cooked breakfast was grilled and not fried, no grease, well seasoned. The original house itself is very beautiful. Our 10 year old loved the pool. Bar snacks delicious. Tomato and Basil soup exceptional. The guy who did housekeeping and kept the rooms nice was such a lovely person. So helpful and friendly. Beautiful relaxing bar area. Everything well presented in the reception, bar and dining areas.

Cleanliness (surfaces were dusty and I’ve even found someone’s nail in the bathroom, near sink), shower head was broken, breakfast is not included and quite pricey, no slippers and bathrobes in the room, only one set of shower gel/shampoo for 2 people

Lovely mansion, good location, friendly staff, got a room upgrade (thanks,guys!), spa was there (free for guests), our room had a shower and bathtub, room temperature was good and you could easily control it (cold outside, but warm and nice inside), there was a lift, plenty of parking slots, comfy bed and pillows. Would like to come back, I liked it
