Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bin in the bathroom had not been emptied from the previous occupants who had left a bag of dog poo in it, which stuck the room out. Not very welcoming.

The walls in our room were pretty bad and I would suggest the room needs painting before the next guests come.Also the carpet was badly stained in some areas.

our room was very clean and warm with a sea view, with an excellent bathroom. The bar and restaurant were very spacious with a large car park and an easy booking in process. The chap on reception was very efficient and friendly.

Too warm. Despite turning off the radiators, the room seemed very stuffy.
Lovely room and although we didn't use the dining facilities, they looked nice as we walked through.

Morning staff on reception were quite grumpy didn’t really smile, but not only was there not a welcoming friendly smile from the morning staff on reception but she also asked us to pay for our breakfast on the morning when the waiter/cook asked which she would prefer pay before or after and she said before which felt like a trust issue maybe but a bit of trust goes a long way especially the fact of that we’re had stayed 2nights with our dog

In hindsight, and this was acknowledged when I arrived at the hotel, when the person who met and greeted me on my first night realised that I was partially sighted, he would have tried to put me in a single room which was in a more ideal location in case of egress in an emergency. However, it was not possible to do this as there were no available single rooms nearer to any exits.
I have stayed in this particular hotel many times prior to this stay, and have always found the hotel facilities very clean, comfortable where the staff have always been friendly. This stay was no exception.

Last time we stayed parking was free but this time we were charged £5. The wall lights in the room didn’t work.

We had room 106, the view was a wall and the top of a conservatory roof, would have been nice if we had known this in advance. The room itself was very dated, curtains were black on the inside. Bathroom very small. Would have preferred to have been given a toom that didn't feel like a walk in wardrobe due to size. Not the best Best Western I have stayed in.
The staff were amazing especially the young girl who has just finished probation, she doesn't realise how good at her job she actually is. The bar area and lounge were very welcoming, bright and modern
