Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNoisy guests on a Friday night, lack of charging facilities. I understand the Embassie is in the middle of a modernisation. Very central and will visit again.
Very warm and honest welcome.

There were always available biscuits, coffee, tea and it was amazing, the stuff was friendly and supportive.

United KingdomKitchen bit cluttered and not the best to make your own breakfast. It was only 1 night so we managed. Anyone who's picky I would look else where.
Friendly welcoming staff and great to meet people from all over the world. Nova the dog that lives there is so friendly. Room/beds were comfortable. Location is good just uphill walk to get there. Toilets clean. Putty about weather as outside area looked lovely.

United KingdomToilet and shower. For the amount of people that can be in at one time, they could do with an additional toilet for example.
You’ll get what you pay for. Not the greatest, however staff were very polite and nice.

GermanyThe shower didn't really go warm, which made showering a bit uncomfortable and the bathrooms could have been a bit more clean. The house is a bit crowded with stuff. However, in my opinion, this gives the place a comfy vibe, but I can imagine others might not necessarily feel the same way.
At the Embassie, you will meet a wide range of people from all over the world and all different backgrounds. There will often be people in the kitchen gathering, drinking tea, and chatting. The hosts are very welcoming, and they offer a personal Beatles walking tour. It was no problem to leave my luggage even after I checked out

United KingdomThe room was freezing. There was a radiator provided, but it didn't seem to do much. The shared areas (corridors, bathrooms, ect) could have been cleaner. However, the actual facilities (toilets, sinks, ect) were all clean.
The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room and beds were spotless. We booked an entire room (10 beds) to be together and on our own. I messaged to confirm we would all be together before hand, we weren't automatically put together, but they were more than willing to change it so we were. The rooms had locks so we felt perfectly safe. For the money you pay it is perfect.

United KingdomParking is on a nearby side street unless they have any tokens left for the adjacent street, which has residents only permit. The other side street looked pretty dodgy but our (not fancy) car was fine overnight... So it is fine but something to be aware.
Traditional hostel, old school style. Bit of confusion finding our booking but it was ok. Friendly staff. Room was small but clean and basic. Good for the price, can't complain. Tea, coffee, toast available.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaThe whole place needs a renovation fast. My room was very cold inside and I certainly question whether it is possible to stay during the winter. The place is also dirty, the linens and pillows where not clean to say the slightest. Overall, good value for money but would think twice if staying in Liverpool again.
The hostel manager Kevin is easily one of the most interesting characters I have met on my travels, easy to talk to and really informative. The Background story is great and he makes you geel welcomed at all times. The kitchen had the necessities and the place was about 20 min walk to city centre.

AustraliaWhile the hostel is full of character due to its age it is rather dirty and there were only two toilets. The kitchen/lounge area was small and became crowded easily. The location was 40 minutes from the central station by foot but it was quiet and leafy.
This place had a unique character, with friendly informative staff. We were allowed to store our luggage on the final day at no cost. The beds were comfortable and the TV worked. There was no additional cost for towels and breakfast was free.

United KingdomIt's in a very old building, the whole place could use a renovation, its cluttered too. There was no hot water in one of the showers. There isn't anything to dry the hands with in a bathroom and the toilet room is tiny.
Beds are comfortable, kitchen is supplied with basics like tea and coffee, the owner seems very nice. Reception was still open when I came back quite late. There is a shower and bathroom on every floor. Good location.
