I found it difficult at times to find my room. It was easier to find reception as the signage seemed easier to follow going from the room than finding the room each time.

The room was good. It was clean and well decorated. The breakfast and evening meal were fine. The staff were helpful and efficient.

We said this last time, the rooms are tired. The toilet seat was loose, the sink cracked. It needs investment and careful modernisation, or at least a plan to improve. The rooms are the same as our last visit. This time room 248, the floors are paper thin and we could hear " everything" that went on above us. Comparative to other hotels, in my opinion it is no longer competitive. We stayed in three hotels on this visit to see family, a Premier Inn, a Travelodge and the GPH and the GPH was the most expensive.

The staff are exceptional, a warm welcome on arrival and great polite attentive but not intrusive service throughout our stay of two nights. The setting is wonderful, the building looks spectacular from outside.

Slight damp smell in bathroom where shower is leaking through the bottom of the screen and starting to rot the bath panel and floor covering.

Some of the decor is starting to look very tired. Our room had a lot of dust behind the blind. The room and parts of the building were very warm. There was a noisy extractor fan somewhere on the flat roof near our room.

All the staff we met were very friendly, efficient and helpful. There is a good breakfast choice. We had one evening meal in the restaurant and it was good. There is a good choice of draught beers at the bar. It's ideal for attending an event at Oakwell Hall.

Fruit at breakfast was disappointing - missed grapefruit, prunes & sliced melon etc. Only chunks of watermelon with some cut up pear and few strawberries

Really good sausages and bacon. Dinner was good too - nice, airy, clean and bright restaurant with friendly pleasant staff. Used the free pool and sauna - lovely and clean and seemed spanking new.

The restaurant was soulless, music intrusive, and the slow service at dinner unacceptable.

The surroundings were tranquil and beautiful. The room was a good size. The staff were charming, attentive and helpful.

Expect it to be dated but it's not really a problem. (Actually keys to put in locks to turn and open bedrooms!) No desk to work at in the suites.

Nice room, friendly staff, the spa was worth using and nice, comfortable rooms, cosy and spacious rooms, coffee machine + bathrobes in the rooms.

The iron in room was not working too well, I struggled to find my suite as all rooms look the same and it was confusing. I could not switch the radiator down in room 206

Nice setting with good parking, lovely swimming pool and sauna. To my surprise the room I was given was superior and I booked standard so this upgrade was very welcomed, thank you.

No complaints really but for the sake of writing something, perhaps the corridors to the bedrooms could do with a face-lift!

Perfectly situated for the nearby wedding we were attending and a great venue for meeting up with friends and family. Friendly helpful staff and the hotel was relaxing,clean and comfortable . Great value for money, would definitely visit again.

When I booked I had booked for an inner court yard view room on the ground floor and I didn’t have that. The view was a brick wall and on the first floor . I did think the room was a little out dated but it was all clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay so I was satisfied with our value for money.

The staff were all really welcoming and happy to help. We would like to give a special Thankyou to Isabelle who waited on us in the restaurant and Josh who served us at the bar. I didn’t catch the name of the Manager but he was also very welcoming and friendly. We were very happy with our little night out.

That to access the spa would have cost £50pp on the weekend which felt extortionate so we didn't do it. A little disappointed as it was my birthday weekend too.
