Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOnly one plug in the room, no good when you have to charge up a couple of devices.
Lovely stay would definitely return, friendly staff. Room a little small but for the price it was very good.

United KingdomThe only 2 things that gave this a 9 out of 10 were the car park...woefully inadequate, especially when some entitled 4x4 owner takes up 2 spaces and blocks the rest of the car park and the food...very average "castle howell" food, quite obviously not home cooked but rather "mass produced"...as stated this got 1 point deducted from an otherwise perfect stay!
Loved the dog friendly room and the little welcome pack for the dog! Staff were friendly and helpful and the choice of drinks were good. Overall very happy with our stay and would stay again!

United KingdomThe radiator in the room wasn’t very warm, so it took a while for the room to heat up.
The building is lovely, feels like the centre of betws y coed. The bar inside is lovely, and has a lovely log burner in the bar, and also fires in the other rooms. It felt very Christmassy, as the tree was up and there were some lovely lights outside. The room was clean, and the shower was great. There is parking but probably for about 5-6 cars. It is near to some lovely little shops, and you can walk the village easily with some beautiful scenery close.

United KingdomSmall things but could have differentiated prices for breakfast ie charging young ones a different rate to adults. Also could do with somewhere to store shower gel during a shower rather than on the floor.
Excellent location, nice and clean room and facilities with on site bar and restaurant

United KingdomWhen booking through Booking.com it wasn’t clear on room descriptions as to what you got. I booked king room, looking at booking.con looked like I’d have view of village and nice seating area. Think that was deluxe, but wasn’t clear on site on differences on the rooms. So whilst a beautiful room still, no nice view of village as I’d hoped for as was birthday gift for fiancée.
Beautiful hotel, nice decor. Comfortable and great location. Staff very friendly. Would definitely Recommend.

NorwayIn the bathroom we had a towel that looked used and dirty, and there were some small shower soaps that were half empty.. The stay was nice in general, but a bit overprized.
The hotel was nice and clean, and had a nice staff. We arrived after 11pm so the reception was closed, but the staff had layed out an envelope with my name on with the room key and information about breakfast and checkout. We also had the opportunity to call for the staff by pressing a button. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was good, we filled out a form the night before with request for what we wanted for breakfast, and reserved å time.

United KingdomIt was a bit pricey particularly the add on for breakfast given the cost per night just thought that was a little much and the cost did not equate to the quantity I.e. one morning me & my daughter had a bowl of cereal and still charged the full breakfast rate
The staff were amazing so attentive and friendly couldn't fault them in anyway! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was very nice! Location is spot on walking distance to everything and close enough to other adventures!

United KingdomAlthough the bedroom was comfortable, the only constructive feedback is I feel the bathroom wasn’t quite in keeping with the standard of the rest of the hotel. It could do with a bit of an upgrade.
We enjoyed our stay at the Gwydyr Hotel. The staff were all very welcoming, and we loved the extra touches for dogs that visit (treat bowl on arrival, sausage at breakfast and an entire dinner menu for the dog!). The hotel bar has been refurbished to a high standard and makes for a comfortable area to have a drink/have dinner. The food was nice too.

United KingdomThere were a few issues with the heating on one of the days we stayed so we had a hot night’s sleep but the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and quick to resolve. Beds were a little on the hard side too.
Great location right in the centre of the beautiful Betws-y-Coed, walking distance to all local amenities. Bar was lovely and we had wonderful food from the bar menu. Our triple room was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean.

BoliviaDisappointed with breakfast. For £12.50 you have to choose what you want the day before. It was a very small cooked breakfast with sausage being no more than chipolata size. Just one of each thing. No hot buffet or option for more. There was a selection of cereals and toast if that's you're thing.
Lovely spacious room with a street view. Plenty of tea, coffee and milk in the room. The bar area is lovely with huge sofas and comfy chairs to relax in Amazing location, right in the centre
