Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe were warned that they were a popular wedding venue but why put us in rooms above the disco when wedding guests (who were obviously at the occasion) were in quieter parts of the hotel?
Good location with parking & 5min canal side walk into centre.

United KingdomWe dined in the restaurant on the first evening and were sadly disappointed with the food served to us. The chef was a little heavy-handed with the seasoning which spoilt what could have been a lovely meal.
Lovely hotel, opposite the railway station, so ideal for our needs. We booked a two-night stay. We were originally offered a beautiful room, but unfortunately, the roll-top bath in the bathroom was a no-no in terms of getting in and out of the shower safely. The staff were very accommodating and changed us to a room with a shower cubicle. Nice, clean room overlooking the canal. Excellent breakfast both mornings with a lovely selection of hot food and the standard Continental breakfast items. The staff were both friendly and helpful.

United KingdomNot enough hanging space in the wardrobe. Bathroom wasn't good didn't like the fact that to get to the toilet it was behind the door, very small bathroom, toilet didn't flush well and sink water backed up. There was definitely a problem with plumbing!!! Room 16 needs checking out. I would not stay again unless other rooms were bigger Nd much better.
Very convenient for town centre.

United KingdomThe room had a slightly odd layout. The TV was too far away to watch from in bed without having the sound up loud but had only one chair despite being a double room.
Very good location right on the Leeds - Liverpool canal (walking this was our main reason for visiting Skipton) and also right across the road from the railway station. 5 minute walk to town centre which has a good choice of pubs, bars etc. Skipton Castle, Museum and Woods are all less than a 15 minute walk away and all are well worth visiting.

United KingdomThere wasn't a catch on the bathroom door. So from the outside it didn't stay closed properly. Also a small lamp on the desk/dressing table would have been helpful.
The breakfast was excellent. I don't eat a cooked breakfast but the other choices were very good. There was on site parking which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. The staff were very friendly. Although I didn't use the iron and ironing board they were there if needed.

United States of AmericaThe rooms I booked for our teen triplets were close together, but our room was completely on the other side of the hotel. I have back issues and during our trip they were exacerbated, and I was not easily able to walk up the stairs as there is no lift on that side. Our room had a beautifully refitted bathroom but there was no stand-up shower just a large tub which I could not even imagine trying to get in and out of it. I went downstairs to see if they could move us or switch us with my daughter's room (she wanted a tub) but the lady at the desk was very rude to me about my shortcomings in letting them know I had physical issues. I tried to explain that at the time of booking I wasn't having issues, but she cut me off and was not helpful in trying to switch rooms or finding one that would accommodate my current position. The original lady who checked us in saw the commotion and came to assist. She was lovely and we were able to switch rooms with my daughter. Tempest in a teapot but arguing with a woman in pain who can't fully stand up was really unnecessary. The lift to my daughter's floor/room was scarier than any ride I've ever been on at Universal Studios. Afterwards, I opted to walk up the stairs with help from my husband instead. The rooms seemed somewhat renovated but very much on a budget. The floor in our bathroom slanted quite a bit and it was tiny but the hot water was plentiful with good pressure. The hot water in our sons bathroom didn't work for some reason so they showered in our bathroom as we were only there two nights. The furniture in the hotel seemed very odd. Nothing really matched and it was weird. The whole place seemed a little off but perhaps they are trying to redo the place and it will take time to get it how they want it.
Parking was available and the hotel was easy to get to for our purposes. Two of the rooms were close together and one had a canal view which I had requested for my daughter's room. The beds were comfortable in all of the rooms. I included breakfast in the price of the rooms, and we had the cooked fresh breakfast which was reasonably good except my husband is vegetarian and one morning out of two there were no vegetable sausages. I liked the ability to get my own lattes or coffee at the breakfast bar. It would be lovely if they could be had all day at no cost. I've seen this in hotels in America and it always sways me to stay there. (I like a cup in the afternoon before dinner.) I could tell the hotel was undergoing renovations and I laud your efforts. The new wallpaper in the front entrance is gorgeous!

United Kingdomwe were on the top floor and there was no lift to our room so being totally unfit and having short legs with arthritis, took me a while to get up the stairs, the large corner bath in the room was difficult to get my leg over the side into the bath. both my fault as I should have rung them or at least have let the know, as in the other part of the hotel had a lift and showers. only thing i could complain about was the shower in the bath was very slow and badly placed into a corner and you couldnt sit in the corner due to the taps breakfast was very nice, although we paid for an extra breakfast (£15) for my daughter who was staying on a canalboat and she didn't fill up with the other items on offer but when her breakfast came the sausage and beans were cold.
the room was surprisingly big and warm with the ensuite being large enough, but i thought it didn't have a hospitality tray until about an hour later when i found it in a drawer cold breakfast there was plenty and while we have fruit and yogurt the staff took our order for a hot breakfast so we tried an eggs benedict. room was large enough for the people in it at the time and very clean. we didn't have a meal in the evening due to a birthday BBQ on the towpath above the hotel, but would do next time we stay
