There wasn’t enough shelving in the bathroom for our toiletries. It wasn’t clear when we booked that our room would be in the eaves. Headroom was a bit of a problem.

The castle was fascinating both inside and out and filled with interesting furniture, paintings and other artefacts. The staff made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was of excellent quality with an extensive selection of cold items followed by a cooked breakfast. The bathroom was quite spacious with loads of hot water. Comfy bed and quirky features.

Hhmmm....Difficult one to answer. Maybe a mini fridge with glasses but reception provided ice and glases when requested

Lumley Castle surpassed all expectations, offering an enchanting blend of historical grandeur, luxurious accommodations, exquisite dining, and exceptional service. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the castle's medieval charm and impeccable hospitality. Our room was lovely, and dining in the Restaurant was a culinary delight. The blase of beef was exceptional and the breakfasts were delightful. The staff's warmth and professionalism made us feel like royalty throughout our stay. Lumley Castle is a true gem, and we can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience. Highly recommended for a magical getaway

Stunning castle, supercool interior, loved it. The fact that there’s also a possibility to book an escape room in the actual castle itself was amazing

Aspects of the room a little tired, but of peeling wallpaper and old sockets. Bed a little bit small.

The hotel was decorated in a regency style. We loved the bar with the fires. The room was interesting, and the bed was comfortable. We liked that the toilet had an actual chain rather than a flush as it added to the whole theme. Good shower, very hot if you weren't careful.

Bit of maze to get around the place and it wasn't clear but just had to have a nosey about.

Room was quirky and full of authentic character. Food in the restaurant was excellent but not cheap as to be expected. The room has lots of useless items as standard - iron & board etc

The welcome wasn't great just gave us the key and told us where the room was, didn't give us any information about where things were located like the restaurant/bar. The room was a disappointment, it was clean and certainly not the room I thought I'd booked considering it was £169 for one night, we had to use the two potable electric heaters found in the wardrobe as it was rather cold. I think I just expected a little more bang for my buck so to speak.

The restaurant is fantastic, the food was absolutely stunning. The staff were friendly.

My towels were a bit smelly to be honest a small detail but it did have an impact on my bath. The shower dripped all night so needed to place the hand towel in the bath to deaden the thud. TV was v small.

No beside table which was very inconvenient. A shelf would have surfaced. Also beside light on the same side did not work.

Excellent variety at breakfast and lovely restaurant area. Didn’t get to use the bar area but feel sure would have been a very relaxing place to visit. The bathroom had everything you needed and a very good space. Plenty of good parking places.
