Paying extra for hot drinks, jacuzzi in the swimming pool didn't work, old decorated room, the big gap at the bottom of the door so we could hear others walking and talking.

Location, staff was nice and room super clean.

The food is a big let down. Expensive and not that good. There isn’t a lot of choice either and it’s not great for kids. Also the staff in the cafe were so rude. Big let down compared to the other staff. They did anything to avoid serving us and when the very expensive toasties came, they weren’t even cooked. The kids refused to eat them. Wouldn’t go back. Also, there are a few things that would really help parents and that’s stools in the bathrooms so that the kids can reach the sinks and a few family changing rooms at the pool.

The facilities for the kids were so good and the staff working with them were amazing too. We all had a great time and were never bored.

Definitely not worth the 4star price tag, Hotel is outdated and rooms could do with a refresh or even a coat of paint. Upon arrival one of out pull out beds were broken, reception staff were not great at dealing with issues. Once allocated new room, it was clean and double bed was comfortable enough

Food at breakfast was fairly decent, though the area for hot food was too small and food was being replenished at all different times

It’s a shame that there is such a stark difference in quality / cleanliness/ upkeep of the Highlands hotel compared to the Aviemore hotel. Aviemore is dated and needing upgrading. And as I stay in the hotel every year for work event, I know how the two hotels differ. The breakfast in Aviemore hotel is so unappealing compared to Highland. So much so, we didn’t stay for our pre paid breakfast on the 2nd morning. The bar area in Aviemore hotel was also needing a good clean.

I like the location and the various on site facilities

    Be wary of "Half Board"

Be very wary of the "Half Board" advertised on Booking.com. This is only a £25 allowance per Adult at dinner, but please note that kids are not included, which isn't clear when booking. We booked for 4 people, 2 adults and 2 kids, 13 and 15, we decided on Half Baord, and we thought we would all be included, disappointed when we had to pay for all the kids food.

All round good facilities over a large area.

The availability to get something to eat in the restaurants is terrible no availability to book as booked at least 3- 4 days in advance therefore had to walk into town for food also a burger place/ pizza place would be good on site especially for the kids

The wait to make toast in the morning was unacceptable as there was only one toast machine stuck in the corner also no mini muffins or banana bread available . Also although there was high chairs available no trays ? I am a dog lover but do believe dogs should not be allowed in the dinning room

The outdated decor and outdated uniforms of staff I feel that it was not worth the £475 we paid maybe more round the £250 mark. Breakfast was ok but coffee was watery so it meant we didn't drink more.

The rooms were clean, The hotel itself was a little bit dated and we had a bit of a walk to the facilities but apart from that, can't complain. Staff were accommodating.

Check in was the worst ever. Definitely not 4 star and allocated the wrong room type which didn't accommodate my 2 children. Receptionist took too long to resolve. We had 2 rooms booked under our surname, different first names and the receptionist said she will cancel our other booking when I had told her the room will arrive soon. Wasn't impressed. My first thoughts were im never returning however the location of the hotel, good breakfast, excellent dinner and leisure facilities made me change my mind. I would contact the hotel in advance to ensure allocated the correct room type.
