The only grumble we had was how hot our room was we managed to find a fan but did absolutely nothing to cool room down so was like a sweat box all night so never got much if any sleep.

The hotel itself was lovely from the outside and lovely on the inside.the staff were very friendly in the evening and lovely at the breakfast morning.

Our standard double room was small. It was only possible to open a small window and therefore felt a bit stuffy. However a desk fan was provided which helped.

Good location in a beautiful area.. Pleasant staff and nice public areas. Nice cooked breakfast.

One young reception staff on arrival could have been a little friendlier , more welcoming. Appeared more interested in the computer. All other staff perfect.

Location stunning. Hotel old character beautiful. Large open fire made it feel even more welcoming. staff friendly

Service for breakfast was a little slow and a 10:30am checkout on Sunday is little bit too early.

The location is lovely as it is so peaceful and quiet and surrounded by countryside with the river flowing by. Comfortable lounge and bar areas with a large selection of beers, wines and spirits. The entrance has a huge open fire. Nice restaurant and the food at dinner and breakfast was of high quality. We had a superior room at the rear of the building and this was exceptional. Really nice decor, clean, quiet, comfortable and amazing views.

Food was only average, but good value for money.

Room exceeded expectations. Bar prices much lower than expected for this quality of hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the character - so much nicer than many modern sanitised establishments

Kings Suite. Room really cold and extra heater inadequate. Lack of any shelf space in the bathroom for own toiletries. Cube by sink not adequate. Not able to charge toothbrush as distance from charger to balancing it on the sink too great. Silly!!

Breakfast was excellent and good friendly service. Dinner value for money.

Rooms rather small and noise transference from other rooms and ours! Had to leave the property sooner than wished due to the hotel being booked out for a wedding on the day of departure

Cozy fire, nice bar, good restaurant and food, nice communal areas, comfortable seating, large car park, helpful staff.

Some of the dark oak doors looked chipped which incorrectly indicate a lack of care for a heritage building. A little Pledge dark scratch coat (<£5.00) wiped over the marks would make a huge difference….2 mins per door.

Excellent breakfast, the sausages were good but there are better on the market .. if you search!

The room was a bit small and didn't have a phone or ironing board/iron. We were also located above the function room and there was a wedding being held that evening in the function room. Didn't get to sleep until after it had finished at 12:00 midnight.

The general decor of the ground floor and great hall.

Hotel was well maintained and in a beautiful old building and grounds. Lovely terrace for a drink in the setting sun. Cleanliness was excellent and the staff attentive. Dinner a bit slow, but did not matter to us as we were a party of 6 for an overnight stay. The room was clean and very well presented with a nice bathroom. A superp galleried old hall served as a lounge and had a log fire even in June! Thoroughly recommended.
