The bar had an overbearing smell of defrosting fish, no ice & closed at 11pm despite website saying it opened till 12.

It is a gorgeous hotel in beautiful surroundings and from the moment you walk in you feel special The food is exquisite and I adored the breakfast and have never tasted such a lovely sausage and had told our daughter and she was with us and she was in total agreement

The rooms were a little tired and in need of an upgrade but we were informed before hand that the hotel was in the process of renervations. We were shown to our room via the dinning room/bar and this led to a flight of stairs ( no lift that I could see) fortunately there was a member of staff on hand to help with luggage. Bar prices on the high side!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great and we also enjoyed a light lunch which was also lovely. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Overall it suited our needs and we had a pleasant stay.

Personally I thought the pillows could have been fuller.

Breakfast was lovely. The spa facilities were great. The fitness centre was better than I thought it would be.

Asked for thicker quilt as the room was cold unless I kept the radiator on through the night. This was not provided. There was tidying of the room by staff during the stay or replenishing of the bottled water.

The gym is very well equipped and the quality of food served in the bar is good.

Very noisy people next door shouting and talking up until about 2am so did affect sleep.

The gym facilities were amazing along with the pool. Very clean room.

Found the reception staff hard to deal I specifically requested a business invoice when checking in and was told this would be no problem I would receive when checking out all fine at the time upon checking out I called so invoice would be ready to be told I had to get it off the website I booked the room really not on and massive inconvenience for me. A fire alarm went off randomly when I exited the room (just in case of a fire) a panic hotel staff member shouted to get back in our room which I found really uncalled for and was totally unprofessional.

Nice grounds, facilities are all good the sauna and steam room were nice unfortunately Jacuzzi were broken during my stay from what I heard while there this is often the case.

Nothing wrong with the place except we arrived with the most heavy rain storm.

Staff at reception were very pleasant and helpful. So were the breakfast staff very pleasant and obliging.

Happy with room

We arrived, the reception staff couldn't find our booking. It was almost £20 for two drinks at the bar, we got a call after the first night asking if we wanted late checkout but I booked 2 nights. We got 2 sandwiches and a diet coke to share and it came to nearly £40. There was no reception staff at 11pm when we were trying to buy 2 bottles of beer to take to our room, which again was around £18 for two bottles of beer and a cookie! And when a member of staff was walking around he told us he couldn't serve us because he wasn't allowed to operate front desk. I even rang the hotel number and the reception phone was ringing and no one turned up, we were waiting for easily 20 minutes before someone arrived and when we were told the price I wish we hadn't bothered.

The room was nice like they always are

Breakfast sausages were a bit disappointing.

Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, grat location for travel near the motorway bit also very quiet.

The showers didn’t work at the pool, the main reason we chose this hotel so had to either have cold showers or walk back to shower each day.

Bedrooms were comfortable.

Room 132 ground floor, next to reception, no issues with noise at night, view very close trees, no issues was not there for the view, adequate heating in the room, no issues. Bed: Was very comfy and clean. Breakfast: Had a good choice and there was plenty, staff very friendly and helpful. Check in/out: No issues, very helpful and courteous. Bar: Plenty to chose from, clean, staff were knowledgeable regarding spirits and 0% table service when required. Hotel accessibility, first class just off the motorway and easy access Nice two night stay and would stay again.

Bathroom : narrow bath , no shaving mirror. Bar and grill area, dull bland and dated.

Lean and comfy

Dining room lacked atmosphere for dinner though absolutely fine for breakfast.

All staff were first class - friendly, polite, helpful and made us feel very welcome. Dinner was very good and similarly so the breakfasts.
