Did not dislike anything. Room decor is probably on to do list but essentials of comfort and friendly reception were first rate and high quality of food was a real bonus.

Quaint, authentic, superb food, log fire, comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff.

Taxi fares are a little pricey for the short journey into Hay on Wye but no public transport.

Loved how the Pub still has it charm, the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Clean rooms and tasty breakfast. Would stay again.

If you're a light sleeper take your ear plugs for the road traffic (close but not overly busy) and creeky floorboards.

A lovely comfortable stay in an old timbered hotel with great hosts. Comfortable bed with gorgeous views. We had an excellent meal in the evening, and breakfast was just right.

The staff were very helpful. My wife has MS , so has issues getting around, and the hotel was very understanding. The room was lovely , with a massive, comfortable bed. I thought the breakfast was great, amongst other things it was lovely to have really nice bread, rather than basic sliced.

We had a lovely large room with some good quality elements, but for what was labelled deluxe accommodation, some of the fixtures and fittings were a bit shabby and could do with an upgrade. And a proper tea and coffee station with a mini fridge would be a big improvement.

A wonderfully quirky little hotel in a very handy location close to Hay on Wye. Breakfast was cooked to order and was tasty.

Not much really. Just details. Shower in room 2 needs water retentive panel. Bedside lamp needs minor repair.

Breakfast. Lovely, elegant dining room. Good vegetarian version of English breakfast. Large garden for sitting our after dinner. Lovely lawn curving down to bouldered stream overhung with willows. Children's paradise. Calming, restorative. Stunning view from bedroom. Landlords generous with their time and attention. Tasteful decor and furnishings sympathetic to the style and age of the inn.

Stayed in room 8, over the kitchen with extractor fan under window-noisy and smelly. Room was comfortable but dated and tired-expensive for what it was.

No upright/ standing shower but there was hand shower tap on the bath so it wasn't a big deal.

Mark and Lowri are fantastic hosts and the food is excellent! The bed was comfortable and the views towards the black mountains from the property and my room were stunning. The room was exactly what you'd expect from a 14th century building, a little crooked and some fantastic original features, which made the experience feel special. Would definitely have no hesitation in returning.
