The lighting in the room was too subtle there wasn’t, enough light to work on papers or to do my knitting, more flexible lighting is needed. There weren’t any facilities to plug in USB cables to charge tech items luckily I remembered to bring an adapter. I couldn’t use the shower as it was over the bath and not safe for me to use (73 yrs old). My room was up 4 flights of stairs, no lift available. I managed with all of this and enjoyed my stay but I do think that some of these issues need to be addressed in the future.

Dinner and breakfast were excellent as was the service. Good car parking and no fuss check in and out.

Was a little noisy. Could hear the guests next door talking and got woken up a number of times during the night but I am quite a light sleeper. Would be nice to have access to the breakfast and dinner menus before ordering...online? Or in the room...

The breakfast was fine. A number of different choices more vegan or vegetarian options would be great! The location was lovely and the staff were very accommodating.

The Bath in my room was so close to the toilet I bruised myself trying to get in and out because the screen was fixed and only a few inches space. I am a small female. There were also a number of hairs in the bath which was a bit off putting. My dinner was burnt but it was still on my bill, but they took it off at checkout- however I discovered after I shouldn’t have been charged as I was half board! Still awaiting a reply on this and hopefully a refund…

The hot spa and sauna are a great addition. The grounds are lovely and I managed a run. The soup was lovely and I enjoyed the cheese and biscuits. Breakfast was also good.

Room was lovely - but why could they not put a larger bed. Plenty of room and it would have been much more comfortable. Also shower in bath is not great. Could be updated with walk in shower and no bath Breakfast was very average : bacon fatty - sausage deep fried - Spa was simple but a bonus, great sauna

hot water stopped working on the morning we needed it. reception isn’t well covered Ie sometimes it takes a while to speak with someone when needed. staff however were great once you could get hold of them. would be great if they had a steam room as well as sauna

Room could have been cleaner. Also a welcome letter for someone else was on the table in the room when we arrived. That was disappointing

There are no real negatives that affected my stay.

The staff that I came into contact with were very professional, nothing was too much trouble extremely helpful made my stay special. Breakfast was wonderfull, fresh ingredients and very tasty. Bed was very comfortable, outdoor areas and scenery beautiful. Well done.

Noise from kitchen or similar fans/ventilation prevented good sleep. Dripping taps in bathroom when. TV that inextricably came on at 2am and 3am and woke us up. Solved by turning off at supply socket on wall.

The room was quite small, but big enough for a one night stay. The shower in the room was overhead only and lacked an attachment... Everything else was really good for the price that included dinner and breakfast!

A beautiful building with a huge lawn. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was comfortable and had air con for the humid night.

We had a slow start at the hotel. It took us almost 2 hours to get our lunch served on a day of arrival (Friday). There was a lack of staff it seemed and those on site were not all trained appropriately. However this did get fixed by dinner time when we think hotel used contracted personnel and they did an excellent job. It is worth noting, if you are travelling as a group (be it friends or family), we highly recommend you pre-book your meals with the hotel well in advance (at least several weeks ahead). We did not organise our meals in good time and it became a challenge to get dinner table as a group despite making a booking on a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast rate. Initially the hotel had placed us all on separate tables despite having a group booking reservation from the beginning and it took a bit of time to sort that out.

Despite having challenges with restaurant staff on the day of our arrival, the rest of our stay was very good and weekend staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is surrounded by most beautiful grounds that are kept immaculate, it is a charming property and we enjoyed our time there. It is perhaps a bit overpriced but a really lovely place if you let that fact pass.

The food was lovely and the room was very nice. They really made an effort to make us feel welcome on our anniversary, with rose petals on the bed and chocolates in the room.

the hotel and grounds are beautiful. Lovely outdoor terrace with very stylish furniture. The Garden room restaurant is very elegant and the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. Nice spa area with outdoor seating.
