Children sitting at the very small, busy bar. Our room had a nice claw foot bath - in the room - would have liked a shower too. It’s a nice feature but not practical for everyone - minor detail.

Excellent location for our purposes - party at local golf club. Easy walk into town. Staff were very friendly & our room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was really good. We would stay again.

Staff were fantastic- helpful and welcoming. Food was superb, evening meal and breakfast. Local produce in the kitchens and no packaging at breakfast, clearly organised with environmental sustainability in mind

Unfortunately a bulb had blown in the bathroom and it would be great if there was just a little more lighting in the room if required to be able to read. It would have been nice to have had 2 biscuits places with the tea and coffee making facilities in the room on our second day. there were none given. Only on day 1.

The Staff are amazing, very welcoming, professional and friendly. The hotel has a very cozy, warm and welcoming feel. The room was exceedingly spacious, generously furnished with a very comfortable bed. Generally, very clean and tidy.

It was very poorly lit inside, no big mirrors or lamps to get enough light to get ready for the wedding we were going to. One of the taps on the sink didn't work, so only had cold water on the tap.

Excellent location for Stamford, room was comfortable, very quiet despite being on the main road. Good choice of breakfast, staff helpful and friendly. Noticed live music and cinema nights coming up. Free parking, would recommend.

The lighting in the room wasnt too good but other than that everything else was pretty good.

The pub is a lovely place and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was nice and the room was cozy. Parking at the William Cecil as per the booking instructions also worked really well.

Our room and breakfast were excellent. Dinner on the first night was delightful. The staff were all most attentive, friendly and efficient. Proximity to the town was perfect as it was just distant enough to ensure comfortable walking to town and distance from it to ensure peaceful evenings.

Not much - it really met expectations. The worst I can say is the beer I most liked was off the 2nd day, but that's because everyone had drunk it ;-)

The room we were allocated was directly over the kitchen and very noisy. The kitchen noise continued at night with fans giving off a low pitch hum and kitchen staff started about 6am waking us, which did not make for a comfortable stay.

Bathroom radiator was not working so room was cool . Shower required a shelf or caddy as there was no where to put toiletries.

Location easy walk into the town centre. Lovely old building . Bedroom was spacious with a high ceiling. The room did not have secondary glazing so experienced some traffic noise, this did not however disturb our sleep.

Thought that the evening menu was a bit limited. Importantly, the road traffic is very noisy - not conducive for a restful night's sleep as no secondary glazing in the bed rooms facing the road

The bedroom was very drab. Gloomy pictures hung randomly around the walls; furniture a bit odd and not sympathetically arranged; only one chair in the bedroom (why do so many hotels have only one chair in double rooms? One of us always ends up sitting on the bed); very non-atmospheric lighting. There was a rather odd arrangement where the bedroom and toilet and bathroom were all off a small landing which could be partially closed off with a curtain - wouldn't suit everyone. The room with the toilet had no heating. The bathroom was functional but spartan.

Staff were great. Food was really good. The bar and restaurant were cosy and nice to be in.
