Warm welcome after a hard day's walking. Attractive period property with busy bar late Sunday afternoon. No food served on Sunday evenings but hotel was prepared to plate up food for us to heat up later (arrange in advance) Microwave and kitchenette area in room with modest breakfast ingredients in fridge. Community run shop next door

Great pub with friendly staff and locals. Good beer and tasty food, with a nice comfortable and clean room. A great stopover for a couple of days away in Wales. We greatly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back some time.

Unfortunately, the night we stayed, there were no meals been served, so if booking and want a meal, check beforehand as there is no other option in the village. Also, a welcome pack with a write-up about the history of pub/village, local walks, etc. would be a nice touch.

This is a really good place to stay, exceptionally well run, who accommodated our early arrival and late check out without issue. This is a community run pub and accommodation and these are the places that need to be used to help them survive as it's the heart of the community. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room catered for our needs, comfortable beds, fresh linen/towels, plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate satchets and milk etc. The breakfast bag of croissants/Jam/orange juice was much appreciated. Lovely location and I would recommend it and definitely stay there again.

The only issue was that there was no-one there to let us in at 5pm as the pub wasn't opening until 6.15. The evening's host did arrive shortly after I called the Raven's number and left a message. The pub's visiting cat was there on the dot of 5 and kept us warm. We weren't waiting long.

The view over the church was lovely and the village had a friendly feel. The room was comfortable. The accommodation was as advertised so as we were there on a kitchen closed day we had bought a meal to heat in the microwave which was in the kitchen area of the room. There are community shops in Pen y Stryt and Llanarmon-yn-Lal and we were walkers. The Raven inn also has a visiting cat co-host who kept us company as we enjoyed our after dinner drink.

More hanging space for wet clothes would have been useful. It's billed a walker friendly.

Joy was incredibly kind and gave us a lift to another pub to eat (we arrived on foot) because the Raven wasn't serving food that night.

Bed was comfy but a little too soft for our liking which caused sides to have a tendency to slope if you got too close, which I did 1 night and nearly fell out

clean cosy room with great mini kitchen. great location if walking Offa’s Dyke ( walk down off the path or catch a bus at Clwyd Gate). we stayed on Tuesday so unfortunately not able to sample their food but joined the quiz night which was great fun! a special thank you for the lift back to ODP in the morning! what makes this special is that this is a community run pub with rooms!

The bathroom, although absolutely adequate, needs a little bit of TLC. The non slip shower mat nèeds cleaning/bining.

Staff were friendly. Beautiful little village location. The evening meal at the pub was tasty and great value. The room was decorated in a cute style. Overall great stay and value for money. It was perfect for what we needed for our one night stop off.
