My only criticism is that the room didn't have a desk and chair. As a business guest, I really need somewhere to work on arrival or early in the morning

Great little boutique pub/hotel with a fantastic seating area overlooking the fishing lake. Great menu with breakfast being more style than substance(too many conflicting ingredients) Nice clean room with a good stlye vibe.

I booked the room with bath but I am just over six feet tall and it was too small for me ! I slept really well but the noise from above started at about 6.30 am - however it is an old building. The rooms seem to be geared up to a short stay with four hooks for hangers

if you want an early night then it's s little noisy with the kitchen above the dwellings and they start early in the morning too, you can hear footsteps on the wooden floor.

The room with the bath was nice, overall it was clean and good service. I would stay again.

Nothing, everything was great

Beautiful location, we enjoyed having our evening meal and breakfast by the lake. Rooms were lovely and the bed was comfy. No hair dryer in the room but staff sorted that straight away when I asked. Staff were really friendly and so helpful.

If I had to pick something it would be that the room was a bit small, nowhere to hang clothes so ideal for one or two nights but could be awkward for a longer stay.

Really friendly, helpful staff, excellent food in the restaurant both for dinner and breakfast, amazing lakeside location.

I liked the breakfast. My wife however ,has a small appetite and all she required was a little toast and jam.One day we were told nothing was available.On other days it was no alternative given.

No hanging space.In the bathroom,could have done with a few shelves to put toiletries on.Also could have done with racks or rungs to hang towels.

Very easy to find, beautiful setting, very friendly and polite staff. Food was very nice and our room was very rustic with a very comfy bed and lovely big walk in shower … excellent value.

As above. Stairs were very steep & poorly lite. Toilet cubicles were tiny, very difficult to manoeuvre with a large bag or small child. At lunch, the wrong menus were provided hence a complete chaos. Salmon salad had grit in it, which spoilt the evening meals for 4 of us.

Quirky building & decor. Breakfast was excellent. Portion of coffee/tea in the cups was low. Asked for further hot water jug, I had to ask twice!

Unfortunately my room was very very musky smelling. It was a very damp smell. I informed once i checked out as the staff was exceptionally busy with lunch when i checked in, so i didnt mention it at first.

The food was excellent!! Beautiful location on the water. Comfortable bed, lovely shower.

The room was on the small side with needless bits & pieces on the only dusty shelf taking up precious space. Celing feels way too low with the addition of rough wooden panels in the middle of it, clean white paint would feel much less oppressive. No need for cushions on the chair as you couldn't sit with them on it and there was no where else to put them in such a small room. No shelving in the bathroom for own toiletries/creams/make up etc. No where to put anything in the room except a high up dusty shelf. Needs something lower for perfume/phones/bag/wallet etc. Mirror in room was not near a plug and lead on hair dryer didn't reach mirror therefore doing my hair was guess work! Very poor view from room - mostly barrels of beer , deliveries or things being stored. Early morning noisy deliveries outside a non double glazed window also made for early wake up times ! Very loud talking/swearing outside the window is not nice to wake up to. Also, we couldn't open the blind as there was always someone outside the window which made us feel like we were on view and uncomfortable. May have been our mistake for assuming but we did feel like we would be staying somewhere with a room that looked over the lake but this is not the case for any of the rooms, although I now have a greater understanding of the word 'boutique' . Very small window so not enough air flow through the room so was also hot. Dehumidifier supplied leaked water so had to be turned off. Wet room bathroom was not practical as using the toilet after someone had showered meant wet feet! No where to hang a towel while in the shower except a small towel rail over the other side. No where to put own shampoo, conditioner, flannel, sponge etc while in the shower! Wasn't made aware of steep steps to and from bar area so struggled a bit. Evening menu had limited choices for someone who likes chicken and was trying a bit hard.

We loved the view over the lake from the bar area. Evening or breakfast, rain or shine - just stunning to sit and look at! Staff were friendly and attentive, especially the younger members. Bed was super comfortable, the most comfortable we've had in a hotel, ever! Fantastic Matcha waffle for breakfast - once I discovered it!

Very good location on the lake and close to Gatwick as we were flying out the next day. Excellent staff and good food.

I do not think the beetroot and ginger drink had ginger in it but other spices. It was still tasty but not what I was expecting. I did mention this. There was some plane noise but to be expected as it is near the airport at Gatwick, otherwise a peaceful setting.

Comfy bed and room. Lovely setting. Great to sit out overlooking the lake. Tasty food too.
