To be fair. My stay was really good. Staff were good food was good. So there was nothing I didn't like about my stay

The first room was tired/ dated and had no heating, but they'd assumed a little plug in heater would be enough? The whole building must have had a big leak problem at some time, and there was lots of evidence of this on ceilings, but especially in the breakfast room - big damp patches, flaking paint, mould patches on ceiling and walls. I think this room needs to be a priority for treatment and redecoration. One of the breakfast staff was obviously not loving her job.... showed no interest, unhelpful, dropped food and utensils on floor but didn't clean it up, etc

Lovely old building. Great location for us. Parking was easy just diwn the road for overnight, or short spells just outside. First room had no heating, so we were quickly upgraded to another room. This room was much nicer and obviously much newer with regards to decor and furnishings. Staff, all but 1, were very good, friendly, and helpful. Plenty of choice for breakfast, had a nice meal in the restaurant.

Originally allocated a small, dark, noisy room above the bar in which the beat of the bar music was very loud and intrusive, to the extent that I would have had to find alternative accommodation if no other room was available. The Receptionist was very helpful when I asked if there was another room, and personally took me to see some alternatives, which were so much better in terms of size, light and peace and quiet. I assumed that these rooms were more expensive and was surprised to hear that they were the same tariff. This does raise the question as to why the hotel would allocate the original room in the first place, when other much better rooms were available.

Got sent to wrong part of hotel for our room. Up two floors, back down. Redirected. Up 2 floors, no lift. Key card didn't work. Called reception. Came up with new key card. Didn't work. Went away. Came back with working card. Bathroom ill thought out. Sat in Bath you looked straight at an unfinished window with peeling paint. Toilet seat loose. Floor in room sticky underfoot like a dodgy pub carpet.

Upstairs was a little dated and rooms were fairly basic although bathroom was very nicely finished. Parking was also a bit tricky as had to wait until after 5.30 to leave the car near the hotel and then had to move it by 10am.

Lovely location, main part of the hotel was stylish and the bar was very swish ! Staff were lovely. Breakfast was also excellent!

The water temperature was not hot enough for me to have a bath, but I did not inform anyone.

There was a great selection for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a fantastic location. We were able to walk to the bars and restaurants. The public transport was easily accessible.

Windows in bedroom were jammed shut.No "ordinary" coffee available in room, only decaffeinated coffee. Shower not easily accessible.

Parking is limited on the road and in a disk zone. Not ideal for motorcycles.

Very friendly lady on the reception...seemed to be organising every thing. Spacious room but radiator didn't work so we used the plug in one. Bathroom was posh but cold noone could get the temperature right on the shower. Restaurant was okay with friendly waitresses, but food was disappointing ie lasagne was served without any fries, veg or salad which seemed odd.

Room was cold radiators weren't working. We had a small free standing heater and l was given another heater by staff when l told them. Only 2 teabags ! My daughter had her own room and she had heating and hot chocolate plus plenty teabags!

Checked into room and had to get cleaners back in as I was unhappy with the level of cleanliness.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. They were very helpful when I complained and give us free drinks while we waited for room to be cleaned again. Rooms were very spacious. Breakfast was good.

My room was a bit cold and towel rail did not heat up. I found the fan heater in the room and that helped.

Facilities in the coffee shop were poor but understand that due to demand might be the time of year for what was available. I cannot find anything else that we didn't like so thank you for a great stay.

Staff managed the expectations on arrival and making sure our friends were booked into the restaurant not knowing we were there. Food in the restaurant was good and the service by the young man and girl was excellent. Good breakfast but needed two toasters on the go as it was busy. Room was large and very clean with a good sized bathroom.
