The heating should have been turned on. It was chilly in the dining room and in our bedroom. In the end, we were given an old heater for the bedroom which took off the chill.

Pleasant staff, parking available, great location. Expected a more gourmet menu, but nevertheless enjoyed our tasty meal.

Not the easiest of check ins. Gave us room number 26 which doesn't exist but is on the wall plaques so we spent quite a while traipsing around the corridors. When we went back to reception the receptionist said it doesn't exist but she wrote it on the envelope and then said they really need to change the plaques! No apology. Rather stressful having begun to relax into our overnight escape! And a bit odd. But we'll know for next time!

Beautiful room. Great location. Good food.

hard matress; staff said they were all new, chosen to be hard! car park is indeed available, but usually full by 3pm! no bath plug (!) but house-keeping fixed it next day

location very good, having a car park is a bonus. Room 15 very nice. staff friendly and helpful.

Very little. Car park entry is slightly challenging but so useful in the city centre. Breakfast was fine but coffee very weak.

The location is perfect for visiting the cathedral, Bishops Palace and Vicars' Walk. There are nice restaurants nearby. It was just right for our short stay.

There is limited parking for residents so arrive early to get a space.

Lovely room with everything you need. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Fantastic location in the city centre - close restaurants, bars, Cathedral, Bishops Palace and Market Square.

Hotel was busy catering for coach parties, so there was a sense of being too busy at times. but they coped well.

Good spacious room - following room-change. Original room had a bath at the bottom of the bed, but staff helpfully arranged for us to move to a more suitable room.

My room was on an upper floor of the Coach House. The absence of an elevator meant that negotiating several flights of stairs and associated corridors was difficult with heavy luggage. It was disappointing to see that a storage cupboard was partially open, although it was marked to be kept locked shut for fire protection purposes. Similarly, it's not good practice to prop self-closing fire resisting doors open to make it easier to clean the corridors.

My well-appointed room was excellent, as were dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. Staff were pleasant, courteous and helpful. The fact that I was able to park my car in the hotel car park was a bonus.

    As above

Very comfortable room, but the mirror light in the bathroom and therefore the bathroom extractor did not function, which was disappointing in a hotel of this type, where we were told that an engineer checked the rooms every day - (except ours apparently!)

A minor point, the bar could have been furnished more sympathetic to the age of the building, it lacked atmosphere.

Good choice on breakfast menu, not a buffet. Centrally located hotel in Wells town with parking.

bar service a little slow but it was busy.... .....and the car park is a little tight.

The staff were so very helpful and welcoming. I had a really comfortable quiet room with everything I needed - a really comfortable bed, excellent coffee machine, water, nice bathroom products and a bath, even an ironing board and iron. The room was nicely furnished with good storage and closet. The best bit - the lights, sockets and switches as well as the mirrors were all in sensible places.

Limited options for dinner on the one night we ate in and similarly breakfast was missing a few options. There are far better eateries in Wells than using the hotel. Entrance to the parking is very narrow so care needs to be taken when driving in or out Lots of street noise - manageable for us as we always travel with ear plugs.

Offered room upgrade which was appreciated. Free parking was convenient as a city centre location. Staff generally helpful.

Unfortunately lace curtains in our room were torn, and the pillows need replacing very lumpy. As for aesthetics, grey gaffa tape on the dining room floor let it down. Car parked in the alley needs to be either moved or parks closer to the entrance gates, for ease of access for larger cars.

Staff polite and helpful. Food and service was excellent

Couple minor niggles in newly refurbished room - no heating (we were quickly supplied with electric fire), bedside lights too big for tables, 2nd tv on wall slight hazard. Wouldn’t put us off another visit though
