Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineSuper cold floor (and no slippers provided), the room gets warmer only on the second day (there is only 1 aircond). Night club downstairs next door makes it noisy on weekends
Amazing location, fast check-in, friendly and helpful staff. The room is clean, amenities are new and fresh.

SwitzerlandI did not manage to meet the staff at any point, but they provided helpful and friendly guidance by text message.
Nice guesthouse in a rather authentic neighbourhood with nice local pubs (bacari), alternative concert venues, and small shops nearby. Spacious, comfortable, and tastefully furnished rooms with an authentic Venitian touch. Large and clean bathroom.

SpainNo breakfast option. Beds were comfortable but pillows were awful. Not a lot of shower pressure. Still, not a lot of complaints overall. Could be cheaper but that’s Venice so it is what it is.
Easy online check-in with no additional charges. Easy to find, simple instructions. Close to the Alilaguna stop so you don’t have to run around with your luggage. In a quiet area that allows for nice sleep, feels authentic and yet St. Mark’s square is only 15 min away on foot. We got a clean, spacious, nicely decorated room with a beautiful view of the canal and the bridge. The room was cleaned every day. I think it’s probably one of the best hotels you can get considering it’s Venice and the price-quality balance.

New ZealandThere are mosquitoes around (as you'd expect with a lot of water nearby) so you must be wary when opening the windows.
Nice quiet location, away from the main hubbub but still close enough walking distance to a lot of amenities, restaurants, and attractions. Set within a historic building that is hundreds of years old, there is a lot of character to the building.

Romaniathe fact that I had to pay 20 euro/night extra as tax as we booked for 4 people, I specified in the search it was for 4 people, they gave us as a result a room for 3 with a double bed and an extra one and still they complained it is not suited for 4 ... I specified multiple times that the 2nd kid sleeps in the double bed - they requested extra money for a towel they provided.
room nice, location - ok

Room was big, spacious, clean and nice. Location was okey, distance to Piazza San Marco was 15 minute walk, in Venice completely fine. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody and come back again.

SpainThe room overlooked the AC units and we couldn't open the window to let some fresh air in - it was quite hot, and the AC inside the bedroom was quite loud. Self check-in was a bit confusing. The hotel promised there was going to be a locker to leave the bags but there was none.
The room and bathroom were super spacious and clean. Really convenient location close to Arsenale and Giardini to visit the biennale.

EstoniaThere were couple of minor things i would point out according to the comfortability. Shower holder was broke, but i managed to wash myself without trouble ofcourse. Bath plug got stuck and i had to use smth (like plastic knife) to get it out so the water could drain. One time toilet flush got stuck and the water didnt stop flowing (this was what i informed you, and luckily you managed to repair it the same day). One day toilet paper was out and i had to buy it myself - would be better to have couple of extra roll for any case. What i was really dissapointed that the windows didnt had the mosquito nets - open windows meant room full of mosquitos, and i was eaten by the morning…
I liked the small cute house with lovely lobby and few other rooms - it was very quiet, private and peaceful experience. I liked my big room with high ceilings and authentic venetian interior. I was really happy about the air conditioner. I liked the spacious bathroom and the routine my rooms were cleaned every day.

AustraliaThe building wasn't well labeled. You had to look twice, but it's not a big deal. It was also a bummer that there was less/no bar in the bathroom to hang up towels.
The room is nice and the bathroom is well equipped. The location is in a quieter part of the city, which we liked. It is about a 15 minute walk to San Marco. The organisation went well, even without staff, very uncomplicated 😀.We stayed there for 2 nights, and you don't need more than this for a city trip.

United KingdomMosquitos! Obviously they are an inevitable part of being by the water, however; our room was full of them and there were no mosquito nets at the windows nor a mosquito device as I read there would be on one of the reviews. We did have our own sprays but there were simply too many to deal with! We were eaten alive and made for a very uncomfortable stay in the end. Such a shame as everything else was good. The Aircon really seemed to struggle with the heat so it was barely comfortable. Luckily we had our own fans with us as well.
Comfortable bed, nice bathroom and shower. Really nice location as was near enough to everything but not in the thick of all the tourists. Lovely little local bar around the corner and a little bit further on Trattoria Da Jonny an absolutely fab restaurant off the beaten track - highly recommend.

AustraliaThere was never anyone at reception we only saw the cleaner who very efficient and pleasant. It would have been good to be alerted that a major festival was taking place right opposite with crowds and music well into the night!
The room was spacious and was right on the canal felt very local, good local cafes, restaurants and food shops Very close to water buses and an easy walk to main sightseeing

NetherlandsInternet didn't work quite well unfortunately.
The location was great, not in the center, so it's pretty quiet, still very close to most of the important things you have to see in Venice. The beds were comfy and the room was beautiful. The bathroom had a bath.

FinlandTwo single beds pushed together under the same double sheet and blanket don't qualify as two separate beds. And is objectively worse than a normal double bed. We had to kill a few mosquitos every night. A/C leaked water a bit. Microwave was dirty.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Microwave just outside the room was very handy. The extra tiny empty room with a window was funny.

PolandAlmost nothing. Had a huge bug on the wall, but only one.
A bit further from the main “center” of Venice but thanks to this it was much calmer, right behind two great bars occupied by locals, with live music and cheap drinks. A few meters from grocery store too. Room was nicely styled, directly on the front of canal, clean except one small thing explained below. Helpful stuff too.
