Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere is a wonderful, large private courtyard. But there was no refreshment service! It wasn't possible to have a cocktail or even a coffee there.
Wonderful location for transportation access, there is a bus stop steps away and the Termini is a 5 minute walk, with regional trains and Metro. The facility is a palace, and the reception rooms, which were always empty are quite grand.

United States of AmericaIn the height of its life it was likely an amazing property, we could see that in many details and infrastructure, however, it could use a bit of care and maintenance to bring it back up in its function and splendor. In our original booked room the air conditioner was not working and we asked for another room with working A/C and the staff were kind to let us change rooms (thankfully there was a room available and the A/C worked better). It was a bonus that the second room was a little bigger than the first as well. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt cared for by the staff.
Good location, wonderful staff, felt safe and secure. Bed, pillows, and towels very comfy. Elevators and some stairs. Breakfast good. Staff recommended great restaurants.

AustraliaFive minutes in room to discover toilet not flushing. We received no apology for this, and were moved to a smaller, inferior room downstairs. Room was so small we couldn’t get our suitcases past the useless chair that was placed inside the door. Shower very small. Lifts in building also very small, and confusing. Breakfast average.
Very interesting old building. Easy walk from Termini. Donna in breakfast room tried her best.

United States of AmericaBooked location to ensure there was parking. when arrived , was told by staff it was first come/first serve. there was no parking available (this redundant to even book here) and paid a extra 35€ to leave the car overnight in a garage across the city. the view from the room was an apartment building with hanging clothes, so if you want a view of the city, book at another location. they will give single visits a awful view.
15 min walk from Coliseum, good area of town with lots of restaurants

United States of AmericaThe breakfast was good but in the breakfast room always was the present of mosquitoes. The breakfast always is basically the same. Sometimes I doubt if the breakfast was really fresh or not. Furthermore, the days that were not a lot of people in the hotel. The parking is included in the package but not necessarily will be available when you arrive and they don’t explain that to you.

NetherlandsLocation is great. The atmosphere of an old palazzo in the center of the city. Private parking lot to safely park the car.
The room was pretty small. Hardly any space to put the luggage. We could find any staircase to get down to the reception floor. The picture on your site is of the patio that was not open.

BrazilThe utterly refusal of the personnel at the entrance lobby to call taxis. They say there is a taxi station by the side of Santa Maria Maggiore. That is true. But not always there are taxis at that station. And many times, when the taxis are there, the drivers are not. At the peak hours in Rome is very difficult to find a taxi in the streets, most of them are already occupied by people who certainly called them. One day before my departure, the person at the reception told me that just in "extreme cases" they would call a taxi, and I would have to wait at the station. Fortunately when I was leaving early morning for Fiumicino airport there was another person at the reception. Seeing my suitcases, he immediately asked me if I needed a taxi and, upon my affirmative answer, called a taxi, which arrived in more or less 2-3 minutes. This refusal to call a taxi from most of the personnel at the reception is very stressful for guests, mostly if you have an appointment or a flight to catch. I am certainly not going to be a guest in Antico Palazzo Rospigliosi again.
It is located close to Stazione Centrale, suitable for day trips to other italian cities, like Florence or Naples. The furniture of the room was too old, and there was just one chunky wardrobe with few drawers. There was no table for writing. Breakfast is mostly bread and butter as is the case in many italian hotels.

United KingdomWhen we arrived at the hotel the receptionist so very inattentive. This had nothing to do with language barrier or not understanding the culture. I have Italian heritage so get the culture and way of life. The receptionist just came across as very rude and unhelpful. The hotel claims to be four star but I think it is overrated. Yes it has great history with it being a former pope’s palace but the whole hotel had a very dated feel and could do with being refurbished. When we got to the room it was again dated and the facilities were less than perfect. The kettle in the room didn’t work, there was a door missing off the shower cubicle and the rainfall shower didn’t work at all. The only shower was hand held and the water pressure was poor. There was brown staining in the toilet bowl. We used the car park, which was free, but were told two different codes by two different staff members. The car park entrance is also accessed by other local residents that access either a food bank or drug rehabilitation centre. The whole area smelled like a urinal and the street was littered with rubbish. The breakfast was included but it was poor. Yes there were cured meats and pastries but the bread rolls were rock hard and hollow. The waitress made very good coffee. The lifts are all over the shop. Some go up one floor and then you have to change lifts. One lift we opened was full of dirty linen. Before Rome we had stayed in Bergamo and Florence and the value and quality was much better. We have now moved onto Sorrento and have paid less for two nights compared to what we paid in Rome. IlWe reported the faults when checking out to another receptionist and he just shrugged his shoulders. Not a hint of an apology. I would avoid this hotel.
The location was very good and close enough to walk to the centre.
