An absolutely beautiful and memorable experience staying in this B&B in the glorious Sassi region of Matera . Nicola, and his father were amazing hosts, offering the best advice on restaurants and landmarks. I can't even begin to thank Nicola for all his help and advice. A warm and generous family with connections to the region. The B&B is a must if you plan to visit. Steeped in history. We are already planning another trip. Cannot recall enough

We had a really wonderful stay in this unique accomodation in the old town. The location is perfect, very close to all the places of interest and also to bars and restaurants, making it extremely easy to explore everything on foot. We loved the triple room with bathroom, quaint, quiet and absolutely beautiful, with all the traveller needs catered for, clean, comfortable beds and modern bathroom, and, best of all, a delicious traditional breakfast and superb coffee freshly made by our host Nicola. At all times during our stay, we really felt welcomed and looked after by Nicola and his father Giovanni. Both are always  kind,  very keen to help, suggest activities and share conversation and experiences during breakfast time. We thank them both and truly commend them for being such exceptional hosts. We would definitely  recommend this fantastic B&B when visiting Matera to everyone, one hundred percent.

Absolutely nothing

The host was exceptional, he was very knowledgeable of the area. He made you feel very welcome and comfortable during our stay. The accommodation was first class and the breakfast was home cooked and delicious. The location of the place was superb as you could easily access the places of interest and local restaurants on foot. We would highly recommend this beautiful quaint place to stay. The B&B is excellently located in the old town. So easy for exploring and plenty of restaurants to chose from for dinner. Nicole was such a great host. So helpful. He collected us from where we parked and delivered us to the accommodation. Everything was immaculate and the breakfast was excellent.

Nothing! We could have done with more of their delicious breakfast apart from the fact we had a time constraint. This is not a complaint but a compliment.

Nicola was extremely personable and a great host - providing lots of recommendations and local info. The property was quirky with original features of a sassi. We felt it was a very authentic experience. Nicola the host even took us to our bus on departure making us feel very looked after

Location was great as it was close and walkable to the main attractions in Matera. Nicola and his father Giovanni were amazing hosts. They treated us like family. Very authentic and beautiful room, the triple room! Very close to all points of interest. The host is very nice! This is my 2nd time in Matera, my first visit we stayed in Sextantio, and I love B&B fiorentini! The host, I forgot his name, so sorry, it has been a long and tiring trip, and his father, were very nice and welcoming. He even suggested the best beaches in Salento and we went there it wqs awesome, it was not part of our plan to swim there but in another place! Grazie Mille, Nicola and family

I loved the authenticity of the home and how our room was carved out of the rock. but what made the stay extra special was our host Nicola…he sent us around the city to see all the key points, he’s a wealth of history; made restaurant and food recommendations and breakfast was superb!! It was our favourite stay in Italy so far!!

Everything!! Nicolo is the best host ever! He helped us make ZTL arrangements with handicap placard due to one of our group having serious leg injury. He rescued us when we came into town and got lost. His father moved his personal vehicle so we could park nearby. The breakfast was unbelievable and the room was fantastic!! He offered to give the injured person in our group a motor scooter tour of Matera on his scooter. Nicolo and his father are a class act and run a facility that is top notch. They are what an excellent host aspires to be like, they set the standard at a very high bar.

Everything was super good. Nothing to complain about.

The main room was incredible, it had the traditional old fashion look that made it look charmin, cozy and made us feel like sleeping in a real Matera house from the old times. The property managers are just so sweet and caring and accommodating, they let us check-in earlier, gave us advice on where to park, provided a list of places to visit and were even kind enough to give us a ride back to where our car was parked to avoid melting under the heat going up the steps. I can just say this stay was by far the best we've had in our whole trip and can only recommend the location to anyone. We felt so welcomed, the treatment and experience was totally 5 starts.

Everything! Nicola and his father were perfect hosts. Loved the cave bedroom. Probably the most authentic experience you can have staying in Matera. Nicola went out of his way to welcome us and gave us fabulous tips for visiting. Breakfast wonderful too. We will definitely return.

No complaints at all. Exceeded my expectations and made my stay in Matera all the better. Only regret was that I didn’t plan to stay longer on my trip.

Booked this property last minute, and stumbled upon a gem. Nicola was such a wonderful host (along with his father), and the property is in a prime location within the Matera historic quarter where you can access everything. Room was extremely comfortable (even in the middle of the summer heat wave), and I felt like I was local living in this unique and charming cultural center.
