Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Plastic cups and cutlery in breakfast area
Friendly front desk, high ceiling room which meant it was cool despite unseasonably hot weather, coffee machine available 24/7, hotel so quiet despite tiled floors and close to station. Bed extremely comfortable

Good budget choice in Florence, near by the the central train and the historic part of the city. The room was large with high ceiling, although kind of simply outfitted. The bed was king size I think with single mattress. Only one thing I could not help but notice was that the walls on the bathroom needed a second hand painting. Everything was functional, and all the personnel working there was very courteous and attentive.

I found the bed to be quite uncomfortable and the bathroom sink took a long time to drain.
Excellent location, right near the main train station and a 15 or so minute walk to the Duomo. Breakfast was also robust and included in the price which gave us great starts for the day.

Only the wooden window shutters were not opening but it wasn't a problem.
The breakfast was so good with a beautiful city view scene, the room was so large and clean, with a comfortable bed, last but not least the location was also good, very near to main market.

walls are not soundproof. you can hear anything. there is nothing except of this. There is no view from the room. Room could be more esthethical but it was ok for 2 nights.
Location: Was fantastic. only 3-4 mins to Santa Maria Novella main train station Breakfast: It was really nice and huge breakfast. I enjoyed it a lot. Pastries were so tasty and fresh. Room: Room facilities could be better. There was no hanger to hang the clothes. So we kept everything inside the luggages. Walls are not soundproof. Cleanless: I can say room, bathroom and the whole hotel was quite clean. I felt comfortable.

I couldn’t get cool enough on my room. I like to sleep really cold but it didn’t happen. The AC units aren’t user friendly.

Great location for walking to all attractions, restaurants and a good little supermarket for picking up snacks and water. Also just short walk to the railway station for taxis and tram to the airport. Generally quiet, we were not disturbed by noise from the street.

It may have just been my room, but the bathroom had a very strong acrid smell that made it hard to be in there for long.
Great location for access to the train station, buses, and downtown. Breakfast was decent, and the room was perfectly clean. Room is dark and most quiet.

The fridge had a little bit of a smell to it and we noticed that the water pressure was quite weak after 10pm. This did not cause any problems for us just something to note for future travellers.
Great value for money, awesome staff and the rooms are exactly as described.
